Stan Heath is now available

Post by svillefalcon »

Was fired from Arkansas today. He was the coach that led Kent State to a 30 win season and an elite eight trip in 2002. If the price is not too high, Mr. Christopher should look Mr. Heath's way.

He instantly becomes one of my top choices. Obviously he wasn't the most successful at Arkansas, but he was a great coach in the MAC not that long ago.

He had an 82-71 record and two NCAA appearances in 5 years at Arkansas. Not that great for a big time SEC schools, but not terrible. He also instantly becomes a Top 3 candidate for me as well. Go get it done Greg!

Was he really? Or did he just come along for the ride with an outstanding class for one season at Kent?

He was asst at BG not too long ago....

Taking a team to the elite 8 from the MAC, you have to be doing some things right.

And HIPSHER (spelling?) is an assistant coach (was that is) @ Arkansas - he has been wanting to get back to his alma mater I've heard.

I would think he must be the top option right now. He could bring Hipsher with him. Both have been here which I did not know. What is the deal with his daughter? PM me if you dont want to share.

His "daughter" "Angie" played for him at Akron. "Angie" was a big wuss and looked like one too. "She" took a pretty good heckling from the opponents fans every game.

That's what I think. I damned year at Kent. Heath's a dime-a-dozen. Pass.

No way we look at Stan Heath. Heath should have never gotten the Arkansas job. He came in and won with Gary Waters team on auto matic pilot for one year. Arkansas was in the middle of the Nolan Richardson debacle and needed to hire an African-American coach to cool the criticism of firing Nolan. As a result, Heath got the job. Hell, I think Jim Christian's a better coach than Heath.

I don't want Heath...period. Now Gary Waters would have been a great choice last year. Too bad he didn't leave Rutgers this year. It will interesting watch what he does with Cleveand State.

Yeah, and Urban Meyer sucks as a coach too because he just won with Blackney's, Utah's previous coach who I have no idea who it was, and Zook's players. I don't buy that logic.

Yeah, will I do buy that logic. Meyer took a losing team of Blackney's recruits and WON with them for several years. Then, Meyers recruits kept winning after Meyer left despite having an incompetent boob (Brandon) at the helm.

Heath took an excellent, winning team full of seniors two games further in the NCAAs. Hell, I could've done that.
