I don't think that there is a single person participating in this discussion who WANTS to see anybody other than Curt Miller on the BG sideline next season and for many seasons after that. I have yet to pick up on a single word or phrase that indicates otherwise. However, taking a new job or being offered a new job IS a possibility and regardless of your opinion or mine or anyone else's, there is no need to run away from the issue. It's a forum for crying out loud and some people need to deal with the possibilities by talking about it. It's not unbelievable and it's not classless at all for this topic to be brought up so quickly. In case you've missed it, it IS a very hot topic. Hot topics.....message boards.......they go together like El Caminos and Mulletts.....like beer and pretzels.....like 7 and 7. The assertions and suggestions being made are out there in the national media. Nothing new or earth shattering is being discussed here but maybe we all should just go stick our heads in the sand and be as naive about this as possible? Apparently denial RULZ!!!

I'm sorry if my little diatribe came off as being angrier than I intended it to be. Still, I know for a fact that I am not the only one around here that has had this reaction to all of this "speculation." A couple of points, though.
First, there hasn't been one word or phrase that has caused me and others to question the motives with which some things have been posted regarding Miller's situation, but the very fact that it has been so widely assumed and so quickly has caused some people to raise an eyebrow. Sure, it is fine and dandy to speculate about what might happen in the future, but so many people are just shooting from the hip without taking the time to look into any situation in detail (RE: all of the "[insert school] has an opening! OMG!" threads).
You can argue that this is a "message board" all you want, but the fact of the matter is that, no matter what forum in which they may be, words have consequences. I look at it this way (its a hypothetical, don't go jumping off of bridges on me) - if I were coach Miller, and I happened to check this forum shortly after the ASU game, I would have been a bit disheartened to see my own situation garnering attention when the team just finished a heck of a run. Furthermore, I might also be somewhat more inclined to take other offers a little bit more seriously if only because my fanbase seems to.
Make of that what you will (and I'm sure someone will make a mountain out of it), but all I am really trying to say is that, instead of running around trying to be the first to say "see! I knew he'd go to [insert school]" if and when that might happen (a couple of people here can't deny that is what they are doing), what the heck is wrong with simply saying that we would all like to see coach back next year? After all, this is just a message board, and we don't give out medals for breaking a story. Call it towing a line. Call it pandering. Call it whatever you want, but what the heck is wrong with it, really? It couldn't really hurt anything.
This isn't going to turn into a pissing match, because I'm ending it right here. I just wanted to put this side of the equation out there for people to consider. And damn Greg, settle down brotha. I wasn't attacking anyone, just making an argument.
