I think it is a good move..
He is athletic and will be good on the dline.. plus we need a little leadership on defense. Also I think his weight had a little to do with it.

i really dont understand why he moves players there senior year when they have been playin the same position every year. an example is with van johnson, it seemed like he got moved every practice and eventually left the team. just dont really get it...but im sure he will do fine on defense...

I have a hard time believing that. This is classic GB, moving players around liek musical chairs with no rhymn or reason, it just sickens me. Odro is a beast at TE and we need a beast at TE to run the ball effectivly. I'm all for puttin' more size at DE but is Odro' athletic enough for DE? If this is true Reike & Scheidler better be studs or this will be one of the more pathetic roster moves GB has made to date.
We are a freaking joke. That's all there is to say about this.

I saw Brandon at the Sundae Station tonight getting an ice cream cone. Would it have been wrong to ask him why O'drob is changing positions?

I've never seen a program move players around as freely as we have under Brandon. Our coaches really struggle at identifying players' strengths and putting them in the best position to succeed.

Eh, as long as you're not being a jerk about it and you don't do it everytime you see him, I see no reason why someone who pays his salary can't ask him a question.

Brandon's pretty approachable...I don't think he'd mind being asked a question politiely....like anyone else in the world.

Cripes on Friday, he's the coach of the football team, not the King of Siam :-)
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.

A few things to consider before bashing a coach, program, and anything else inside the Doyt Beltway:

What O'dro wants, feels, or is ok with.
The role of senior Winovich fulfilling (?) a quasi TE-back position.
Other Tight Ends development.
Other receiver developments.
The importance of the DE in today's game.
What depth on the DL would have done last season.
The indication that change is on the way.
The understanding that there a number of coaches with one goal in mind and for BG, this Fall is a completely different team and season.

Hmmm...interesting post. Good points brought up. I am GEEKED for Falcon Football and the season is 5 months away yet. Last year was last year. Nothing will change what happened last year. 2007 is a whole new opportunity.

Let's tee it up!!!! GO FALCONS!

Blocks of Granite?

Post by Class of 61 »

Don't know whether you guys realize it or not, but the highly touted "blocks of Granite" O-lineman of a "few" years ago, are now mostly Srs., or at best RS-Jrs..... hard to believe this much time has passed, but it would seem that we'll be needing to "reload" on O-lineman soon.
Education our Challenge, Excellence our goal. (look it up)

No, I think anyone approaching Coach Brandon is a civilized manner would find him responding in kind. I'm not sure he's going to be terribly forthcoming, but I think he would be pleasant.

But get to the real point. What kind of ice cream was it? Was it dipped? Sugar cone? Sprinkles (god forbid).

I had an avalanche (Sundae Station version of a Blizzard) with Snickers and peanut butter cups. :smt023

Oh, Coach Brandon had a chocolate-vanilla swirl cone.

He's not president of that fraternity. He's not a part of any fraternity for that matter. He's a DB in spring practice.
