Bleeding Orange- FF1 was the MC for the event, so I will get the details when he returns and let you know if not posted first. He was REALLY excited about it!

Nice Turnout......

I'd guess about 600-750+ at least. It was cool, heard speaches from Mayor Quinn , Sidney Ribeau and a BG Alum who is apparently the Assistant Mac Commish or something and um *cough* Greg Christopher *cough*. Got a shirt signed by the team and Curt Miller told me as he signed my shirt to keep pumping the team on the internet. Hmm....I think he might sneak around this site abit maybe. :-k

I took the family and thought it was a great event.

To me it sounded like Coach Miller really loves being here. I hope that means he is staying. (Even if I have been saying all along he will be scooped up for big $$ elsewhere.)

The kids had a great time and it was the perfect end to an amazing season.

Thanks again coach!

I love hearing about kids having a great time at BG events. They're the future of the fanbase for the most part, and getting them young is key.

Sounds like a good time and a proper "send-off" for the seniors!

FF1 did an AWESOME job!!!! He had tons of enthusiasm in his voice when he was at the microphone! He got the crowd on their feet, clapping and cheering several times!! Overall, it was a wonderful tribute to this team and their awesome coaches!!! (PS: Great to see the hockey team there supporting thieir fellow athletes!!!! :D )
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

I agree with that 100%, an awesome event that I think should become a tradition.

Also I loved that when FF1 was introducing Miller the fans in the stands started stomping, that was great

Most of the crowd was actually chanting "4 more years" as he introduced Curt.

I don't know if anyone mentioned this yet, but Mayor Quinn named March, 29th to henceforth be known as BGSU women's basketball day here in Bowling Green. This could be the start of a truly awesome tradition.
Yeah right girl!

Curt never said "We have unfinished business," did he?

I think he did say we have unfinished business, and he also made it sound like he was coming back when he talked about Kate and Whitney being next years seniors and they're the ones that have to step, so hopefully that means he'll be back next year.

we've heard it before. Of course I don't want Curt to leave, and I think he's more loyal to BG than Urbie, but I get wary when I hear that kind of stuff now.

Not specifically but I think I remember him saying something along the lines of:
"We are very excited about the future."
Not an exact quote, but that's basically it. I know it's hard not to get paranoid after all that has happened, and specifically with Urban's quote still echoing in some people's ears, but I really did get a good feeling from watching him up there and hearing him say that.

I have to say though, my favorite part about the evening was when he said that in his 6 years as coach we have had only had one player not graduate, and even she is back to finish the job after some time off. To me, the championships and records are awesome, but it was that fact that made me swell with pride more than any other.

Some programs win by bringing in kids who have no intention of finishing their schooling, we win by bringing in classy, talented players with good character and their heads in the right place. I said this in my letter to the staff and I'll say it here-- I appreciate this coaching staff and team as much (or more) for their class and dignity on and off the court as I do for their talent and performance on the court.

No, but I do wear a Anderson Animals shirt with "Falconboy" on the back at the games. Plus He's seen me many times at Coaches Shows.

He, along with Jennifer, Brandi, and Kevin, were conducting a clinic for kids at Hoop City yesterday (all 4 looking very sharp in their extremely cool looking BG gear) and part of his "Who are we" introduction to the kids (he was on loud speaker throughout the convention center though) he said....We had a blast going to the Sweet 16 this year and we're coming back to try it again. (I'm paraphrasing because there were bad echos but those words definitely were said by him.)

I was helping with the group that was in the clinic prior to theirs. We had 7 of the Kodak All Americans but I was bummed because we missed the BG staff by 1 time slot. :x Oh, and it was everything I had in myself to keep from asking Lindsay Harding what it was like to have Kate Achter, with flu and fever, play her heads up in Cancun. I decided not to go there because Harding was incredibly nice and was great with the kids. If you ever had the chance to meet her, you'd feel really terrible for her missing those free throws....in spite of the school she played at.
