This Illinois-born BG alum has only been to one Skull Session (September, 2003), but I didn't see anything that was that that different there from the pre-game concerts that college bands give at their respective schools across the country. It wasn't bad, but it certainly isn't unique. The Niz wrote: Don't get me wrong, the skull session is a beautiful thing and I have the utmost respect for what it has accomplished. If you've never seen it, it can be awe inspiring.
The awe I speak of comes from the fact that more fans cram themselves into that arena than they do into the Doyt, and that is only for the band. No matter your affiliation, you have to appreciate that kind of support for music. Things like that give us hope that our art is not a dying one.
