My grandfather has lived his entire life in the northwest Ohio area and has known BGSU the entire time and he has never seen a falcon in our logo, but he also sees an LT. He really likes both the interlocked BG logo and the newer look falcon logo much more than the traditional falcon look.BGSU33 wrote:One of the most recognizable logos in all of sports? I like the new helmet....

Agreed 33. Either falcon logo is kind of annoying to me, as I have "merchandise" with the bird logos on them, but to the uninformed they're simply abstract paralellogram (sp?) looking things. The "BG" is a little bit easier to understand. Now I just have to answer one question (whats the BG stand for?), as opposed to the two from "Whats that on your hat" AND "where is that school, Kentucky?"BGSU33 wrote:One of the most recognizable logos in all of sports? Think about how confused some people are going to be on September 29th when Bowling Green plays Western Kentucky. I can hear it now...."How can a team play itself?" "Why are they playing this game in Ohio and not Kentucky?" "Which team is from Bowling Green?"bgmaggot00 wrote:Agreed 33. GO BG!!!
Good point ... maybe we shouldn't have any interest in letting them into the MAC after all.BGSU33 wrote:

At least MACMAN's head won't pop like a cherry.
I kinda like it.

I agree totally. Big missed opportunity here. I've seen middle school football teams with better looking helmets. It's just, rather, blah. No pizzazz. Add an orange fleck paint, or something to add a little spice. Not impressed at all.Schadenfreude wrote:It doesn't suck.
I think not using the new (retail logo) bird may be a missed opportunity, though.

Chalk it up to emotion. That said, I have never been asked what our logo is supposed to be. Have also never been asked the location of BG. Not even once.BGSU33 wrote:One of the most recognizable logos in all of sports? I like our logo and all, but I’m not sure it’s that recognizable. I'm suprised at you Schad...you're merely "open" to the possibility that I'm mocking someone?Schadenfreude wrote:I'm open to the possibility that Flipper might be mocking MACMAN here.Flipper wrote:It's gay
Just the same: Can we cool it with this garbage?
Using "gay" as an epithet is beneath us as a community.
Also, it wounds more lurkers than you might think.
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.
I guess I shouldn't complain...at least they're still orange.
This is the second time under Brandon that we've changed unis in some way. Urban came here and didn't mess with logos and jerseys or any of that...went to Utah and did the same...now Florida. Stayed with tradition.
And he WON.

Urban never stayed at any place long enough to make changes.
I don't mean to be rude, but it's not like we have had the same uniform forever. We change all the time.
