I try my best to only buy BG stuff with the traditional logo on it, but that is getting harder and harder to do.

It sucks, because I don't like any of the new logos at all. Oddly enough the only one I like even a little bit is the one that the rest of ya'll hate: The interlocking BG & retail logo together side-by-side. Still I like the old logo best.

The thing I've always loved about the old logo was it's simplicity. I like simple logos. I think a logo should be something that a small child can doodle on his trapper keeper while he should be reading his woefully outdated geography book. The old logo was awesome because you could easily replicate it. You could shave it in your head, if so inclined. You could tattoo it on your leg (Freak ;)). You could easily carve it into a pumpkin. The logo just worked.

Logos are one of those things that I hate changing. They should be at least somewhat traditional. I know that we haven't had the "LT" logo forever, but I grew up in the BG area and we've had it all of my lifetime, it's what I've always identified with the university.

I'll never be happy seeing BG gear, and especially uniforms, phasing out the traditional logo to what I think are vastly inferior "NEW" logos. The worst part is you can bet your ass this logo change is done for the exact same reason as every other logo change in history: to spur merchandise sales.

I agree with hammb again. Especially the doodle thing.

The doodle replication thing is the difference between a "logo" and a "design". A logo should be able to be drawn in the sand with a stick, otherwise it is a cartoon.

I know there are a lot of "traditionalists" who like the old falconhead logo. I've heard people ask two questions. Why is there no green in our school colors? Which I think is very fair question and I've never heard a reasonable answer and why do our football helmets have an L and T on them?

I'm open to any changes on both of these subjects.

Because the term bowling green refers to a flat patch of turf, on which the original game of bowling is played. Were grass purple, it would be called the bowling purple, in theory. The name was given to the city by a former postal worker from Bowling Green, Kentucky. The flat nature of the city could have played a part in his using the name here, but more likely, and from what most sources state it was because he simply liked his former town. So the color green really doesn't have a darned thing to do with why the city was named what it was, nor why BGSU was named what it is.

Since there is no connection between the color green and why anything was named what it is, and until a few years ago, there wasn't even a bowling green in Bowling Green, why would there be that hue in our teams uniforms?

Lets not be too harsh. UT fans thought it was an ad for indoor plumbing.

Regardless of logo or helmet decals, or whatever, I still support BG. Like everything else, given time it will grow on me.

To quote my 13 year old son: "It's cool!, I guess."

I was never real fond of the Brandon version of the Falcon head with the white cut out. So I say it is a step up from that.

And lets hold out final judgment until we see the entire package. That is, how does it look with the uniform (whatever that may be). I think the simple brown and white BG has a bit of an old-school look and I think this helmet has the potential to look sweet with the brown jerseys.

The women's basketball team did very well.

Don't know Tiger fan...what if they took away your Old English Tiger logo? Or if U of M took away the winged helmet? Or the block "M"? That is consistent with doing away with the "LT" falcon in my opinion.

Having debates about this makes the off-season go just a little quicker. For the most part we do tend to have a more pessimistic view, but who you see here are the same people who will go to every game and support the team all the time.

It's not a matter of opinion...it seems though that members of this forum exist to tear down that which they claim to be fans of...
