I think I'm going to PUKE

Post by Mr. Frieda »

So i just read on ESPN.com...Steve Spurrier has been in talks with South Carolina and Holtz thinks it would be great. As someone who's moving to Columbia, SC in about a month, I'm now frightened for my football future. I hate Spurrier so damn much...his whiny, ugly, girlish attitude towards everything makes me sick. My excitement about moving to SC just dropped about 100 notches. Anyways, thoughts are welcome.

I actually like Steve Spurrier, and as a casual fan of the South Carolina program (Ryan Brewer, baby!), I think that would be awesome. Lou has brought the 'Cocks a long way, and the ol' ballcoach might just be able to get them over the top. If Lou decides to step down after this year, I would love to see Spurrier in there.

I dont think that Spurrier is that much of a step up from Holtz if any. I think Spurrier would make that program more sucessful and more fun to watch by implementing his offensive style. I don't think that it would be a bad move South Carolina to hire him.
If you go to Toledo or you like Toledo, you suck!!!

Going from Lou Holtz to any coach is not a step up. Sweet Lou turned around a joke of a program into one of the better teams in the SEC. His health is a concern but he is still the best motivator and speaker out there.

This is exactly true. I've been a close follower of SC football. Spurrier is quite frankly an ass. He's loved or hated...and I hate the man. I hated him at Florida and I would not appreciate him at SC. He may be good and bring wins, but there are many coaches who can do this. Urban Meyer is one example, who coached under Lou.

I posted this message thinking that more people couldn't stand Spurrier after his past attitude, but apparently we have a bunch of UF sympathizers.

I had the occasion to work with some people from east Tennessee, in the tri-cities area (Bristol, Kingsport, Johnson City). Spurrier played high school ball in Johnson City.

To a man, they all could not stand him. If you stop and think about what that says. . .Local boy, Heisman Trophy yet they don't like him.

I wish he'd have stayed with the Redskins. Watching him struggle was priceless.

Thank you 1987 and Byron! Good to see someone still has common sense and appreciation of a good personality in a head coach!

I could definently see UM ending up at USC (the Cocks variety). Him and Lou stay in contact and I think UM's vitality could take the program to the next level. I just don't see Spurier going in there....every Carolina fan I know absolutely hates the man for the way he used to run up scores.

On a side note, wouldn't it be funny to have the two USC's play a bowl game at the Rubber Bowl? ;)

For anyone who didn't get that, it is really funny. The cocks and the trojans at the rubber bowl! I won't explain it to all of the marshall people on here because i'm at work and don't have that kind of time!

Nice one King!
