I'm glad we have jumped to slamming people we don't know. TG1996, when were you at dinner with the Trussel family last? Who do you think is the classiest coach in college football then, Bobby Bowden?? Trussel ran a spotless program at YSU, that we know. Clerrett has been caught lying and has shown himself to be a selfish "show me the money" type of guy in his actions. I am a student here at BG and I love all Falcon sports. But I support all of our universities here in Ohio unless they are our opponent except Toledo. There has already been an investigation and OSU's name has been cleared. That should be enough. Perhaps we should just let the NCAA dig into EVERY college and university in the country and see what skeletons they can find.

Typos happen, but how can you defend someone who's name you can't spell correctly?
And anyway, I *have* met the Tressel's. About 20 times, as a matter of fact. Nice people. Never had dinner with them, but why should that matter? And in this case, "nice" does NOT equal "class" when it comes to running a program. "Spotless program at YSU"? Which part of the majority of that article didn't you read? Or would you like to read it again? (http://www.ncaa.org/releases/infraction ... 1602in.htm) I can't deny that boosters and academic "favors" go on at every major college university to some extent. The bigger the program, the bigger the favors. And I remain highly skeptical about the NCAA reports. But, I won't argue them, because that's their business and that's what they do.
And for the record, this whole board is about slamming people we don't know. Have you ever had dinner with the Amstutz family? Not that there's enough food to go around, but he could be the nicest guy in the world. Or what about Bob Pruett? Maybe Gary Pinkel was just misunderstood.(And Herb Deromedi? Don't get me started on Herb Deromedi!
)
Stories like these, whether entirely true or not, make me so much more proud that the NCAA has never even sniffed the BG program, and the people in charge of the program now give me faith that they won't be around any time soon, either. [/url]

Classic CMU moment in the history of BG Radio Sports!! Or sports broadcasting in general, if you will. In fact, if Al Michaels hadn't lucked into "Do you believe in miracles?" I think we'd be standing at #1!! *laugh*Tommy Glantz Is A Sniper wrote:I don't know, you were at the game, what did he do?
TG, you live in Indianapolis...why don't you spend an hour or two over at NCAA headquarters and see what they're working on?
I *could* go see what the NCAA is working on, but apparently as long as Tressel (and to an extent that walking TUMS billboard Geiger) continue to shrug their shoulders and say "we didn't know about anything bad going on", the NCAA will continue to offer up slaps on the wrist.
And Tricky, I moved to Indianapolis almost 3 months ago, its no longer sacrilege for me to speak ill of Jim Tressel.
