BG baseball falls in series opener to CMU on Friday, 8-0

Post by BGSU33 »

Man, this has been a tough way to open the MAC for BG baseball. The Falcons were shutout at home to CMU 8-0 vs the Chippewas' ace Josh Collmenter. Collmentter is a very good pitcher though and turned in a strong summer in the Cape. Nonetheless, the Falcons are now 1-6 in the MAC and they’ll try to play the final two of the BG/CMU series on Sunday. BG is also now 0-4 at home in the MAC. With that said, all three weekend series so far have been MAC West vs MAC East and the West has had the upper-hand by far. Coming into this wekend's series, five of the six MAC West teams had .500 or better conference records and this past Friday, four of the six games that were completed were all won by MAC West schools.
GO BG!!!

The biggest story of the game was the completely imcompetent boob that was the first base umpire, and the rest of the crew that had no balls to get the right call(s). It really is time for the MAC to do something about their officiating, because if you think basketball is bad, you haven't seen anything until you see some of these guys doing baseball.

When you're getting shut out 8-0, the umpires should be the last excuse you use for losing.
