Student Section this year

Post by JimmyZ11381 »

This is just something that I was thinking about today. Our student section the last few years has been pretty pathetic overall. I'm hoping that this year, with Orr coming in, and the excitement that he brings, the atmosphere at AA can be restored.

So that got me thinking about the cool names for good rowdy student sections around the country. It'd be cool if we used something that played on Coach Orr. For example...at Michigan they were called Amaker's Army and the Maize Rage. Michigan State has the Izzone. Anyone have any ideas...

The only one that came to mind was the O-Zone. (Could be for Coach Orr, Otis, or the Color Orange.

Lou's Crew

In the light of the recent Imus fiasco, I don't think my suggestion for the female members of the student section would fly right now.

It definitely needs to be something creative and unique.

Purdue has the "Paint Crew" (coach Matt Painter), formerly known as the "Gene Pool" (for ex-coach Gene Keady). Wisconsin has the "Grateful Red."

How about "The Orracle?"

Thank you Tom. I couldn't get my computer to sign in so I couldn't mention the Animals. I'm working on being able to sell the Animals shirts at AA next year. With Metz's approval we could add something on the back of the shirt like: "All Orr Nothing..."

Permission? Who needs permission?

I'm a fan of the "Screaming Orr-gasms", myself.

Nice job Imus.

Better to ask forgiveness than ask permission

how about "enthusiastic but respectful students with an interest in college basketball". I know it doesn't roll off the tongue, but it would set a nice precedent.

We don't have any of those here. We just have a bunch of guys who crowd the sideline so we can yell at the referees all game

You weren't included as bitching at the referees the entire game isn't your forte. Then again, its not really the forte of a lot of people but they do it anyways. You're more of the let's go team type fan, the kind we need, like Flip described.
