Bring on Toledo

Post by momtartin »

Bring it on Toledo, your next. What a game. We really got fired up there in the 2nd half. If we can do that much damage against the #1 defense in the MAC, Toledo is screwed, no matter what.

I think we should be alright against Toledo, but it is a rivalry game and records and everything else goes out the window when the game is played.

First things first, go EMU!!!

BG's secondary

Post by Falconboy »

Will be tested yet again against UT. We have yet to play well against UT at the Glass Bowl so nothing is sure yet. I don't know what it is, their stupid turf or what but we always seem to choke up there for whatever reason. Heres's to hoping that ends next week. :partyman: We need to figure out what Miami did against them.

We just need to play our game. We are the best team in the MAC and all will be proven next week.

By the way, our secondary played a darn good game in the second half. This was by far the biggest test they have received, but they found a groove and a rhythm and started clicking. As long as they have it figured out now and carry that second half over into next weeks entire game, we are good. The Marshall game and that test may have been the best thing for us heading into Toledo.

Stan Hill throws the deep ball better than Brucie. UT won't stretch the field vertically nearly as much as Marshall did. The secondary and LB's are going to have to stay in position to contain the bubble screens and short passes that UT lives on.

We zone blitzed a lot last against UT. It seemed to confuse Brucie a lot. I wouldn't be suprised to see us do that again this year.

In the 2002 game at the glass bowl, UT's Oline beat our Dline to death in the second half. Our front 7 is a lot deeper this time around and their Oline isn't nearly as strong.

UT's pass rush has improved a lot over the course of the year, but I think our line can handle them. Their secondary is nothing to write home about.

I think we take them 42-21

They're all totally relying on the fact that it's at their house. All that HFA crap goes out the window. UT went into NIU's house and took them down. Why can't we do the same to them? And we will. I've got a good feeling about this one.

if Jordan plays as close to his man at toledo as he did against the turd, we will eb OK. He really stepped up that game and didnt get blown away repeatedly. This will be a big part. we need to cover tight, and get pressure on their less mobile QB.
