Youre insane and irrational hatred of our new logo has caused you to buy into the psychotic hallucinations of others. The space ghost reference I can understand...I think it's the eyes mostly...but the Miami thing is just off the deep end.

There isn't a single design element that I can see that is used in both symbols.

I'd use a smiley emoticon to indicate that this is just happy friendly banter...but I just can't bring myself to do so soon after eating

Agreed.

I don't care for the new logo, but I still don't see the similarity with Miami's. They're both birds, and outside of that???

Sorry, guys. I guess it's the designer in me that sees slight similarities. Could be insane, might be irrational. Nonetheless, I hate it. A lot.

Not to start a huge fight here but i see quite a few similarities, atleast more then our old logo and theirs have in common. It's not that I "hate" our new logo, it's just that I am a big fan of the old one.

Now I see the similarities! They both have eyes, and are in color, and have the school name in them, and they both use lines, and have beaks. I don't know why I didn't see it before! Does it really make a difference? Are any of us not going to support the Falcons because of the logo that is used? The new logo is simply the natural progression of the logo developed before. The basic shape is exactly the same. I am amazed how worked up some get over this change, especially since the new logo is so closely tied to the old one. But I guess that's just me...

(Please note the use of sarcasm above for those who didn't catch it.)

I think that the new logo does look simular, but I think the new oone is best for the casual football fan. Mainly, I feel this way because an average fan did not know what our logo was and where was our school. It doesn't matter to me much which one they use, but there is one thing I know for sure the retail logo is selling pretty good for the athletics store. And that means $$$$$

The similarity people are seeing is in the expression.

Both have a frown going on.

The genius of our new logo is that it evokes that bad ass frown in a few strokes. The Miami lays it out with detail that, camparitively speaking, is like a lithograph.

Ours is good, and better, and I like it.

Its change that is bad, its bad gay changes that are bad. See if it were it legal I would kill this new logo at ever turn...i think #6's in a 3" would do just fine...esp since this new falcon has no back bone. that if I killed it, it would be dead, and gone....but the only people who can kill it are the TOTAL MORONS in the MArketing DEPT and the AD....its just bad...I dont care what font you use with it, its just bad, and bad is as bad does. Our old logo was fine...coke is fine..but they dont change Original Coke...no they add other flavors becasue to remove original coke would be...well dumb comes to mind.
The white house is old...when is the Gov going to build a new on...at this point I am thinking a yellow one might do well...we could even put a bad as frown on Abe ....

you do not just wilily nilly change it...you add to it, make other offering, but you dont change.
That is all.
Now if want to change our mascot to something els more suited to our region than a falcon I can see that...we could easily be the BG EAGLES, or the BG GEESE, or the BG SWAMPMEN, OR the BG DITCH DIGGERS, or the BG SWAMP RATS, or the BG INDIANS, or THE BG HAWKS, or the BG VULCHERS, or the BG pigons, or the BG BUCKS. THE BG ringnecks...or rednecks.
