Niz, along the lines of what Tubachic said, seek out (my old roomie) Preston Ramsey. He was recently relected as the Historian of KKPsi at BG, and as a former historian myself, I know very well how stocked the Historian's Chest is. He can show you all kinds of cool stuff.

Niz,
A couple of people I would talk to would be Mrs. Bonnie Bess, since she had worked in the CMA since it's inception until her retirement. I might ask Mr. Thom Headley, the band director at BGHS. I do believe he is an alumni and would probably provide a wealth of knowledge for you.

This project is awesome. Is there any sort of departmental award that you could get for doing this project? Great idea and I would love to help in any way possible!

Dr. Moss mentioned to me that the KKY historian would be an excellent rescource throughout this project. Bonnie Bess is on the interview list, I just forgot to mention it here.

Fliccbone, I need the help of people skilled and knowledgable in the field of computers and movie making. I am willing to gather all the information, do any and all research possible, schedule and perform all the interviews, and oversee the editing process. I have limited skills with video and putting information together in an electronic/video format to be distributed.

I am not seeking any laurels or awards for this. The reason I decided to undertake this project is to instill the same pride and love I feel for the band and the school in other members of the band. While I realize that pride does exist with others, I believe it is only on a limited basis at this point. I believe that this video could be a spark in a "spirit powder keg" throughout the FMB. There was a pride that was once here, all the way back in the early ninetys. That pride has wavered over the last decade and now it is ready to come booming back. I believe this project may be what is necessary for that to happen.
Yeah right girl!

Niz,
For the movie making process, I might talk to some of the KKPsi and TBS people for the people that make the highlights video because they could at least teach how to do it. Additionally, there are a number of computer science and technology friendly people in the FMB that would probably help. Also, the tech center on campus I've heard is pretty helpful and would probably enjoy helping you on this project. I know iMovie isn't too hard to use, so it would not take long to learn how to use. This is awesome and definitely what the FMB needs.

Are you talking about Glenn Hayes? His last year with the Marching Band was Fall 1984.

Hey Niz,
I'd be happy to help with this project. It sounds like a lot of fun, and I've already got IMovie HD. I have a little experience with filmmaking, and I'd be happy to help however I can. Plus, Thom Headley was my band director, and both him, his wife, and two other music teachers at BG City Schools are FMB alumni, and could probably help out.

Yeah, Glenn Hayes. Dang I couldn't remember his name! I believe he was there through spring 1986? I am fairly sure Jay Jackson's first year was 86-87 school year.

My only season in the FMB was Fall 1984. I believe Doug Brokaw took the reins in Fall 1985. Not sure how long he was there. I think just one year.

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."
