Cornhole board artwork

Post by FormerFreddie »

Thinking of making a cornhole set, and I'm open for suggestions for the artwork. BGSU-themed, of course.

I was thinking of using the old "L7" logo on one, and including the MAC championship years below. The other would have the updated logo.

Thoughts? Suggestions? Has anyone else made BG-themed cornhole boards? Also, does anyone know if I can purchase stencils or decals instead of painting it on myself?

I went to the web-site you listed and used the trditional logo on mine. I'll try to post some pictures later. I tried and tried to find stickers or stencils but had to "freehand" the logos. I actually printed the logo with the poster setting on my printer to get it larger and used carbon paper to transfer the image onto the board. My boards are white and one falcon is orange and the other brown. I'm in the process of striping the board orange and brown. I made brown and orange bags also, but had a hard time finding orange duck-cloth, so I dyed it. It turned out a sick tangerine color. If you play in the rain the tips of your fingers turn orange.

I believe SBX has (had?) decals for car windows of the LT Falcon logo that are around a foot tall, if I recall correctly. My folks got me one for Christmas, but I'm still debating where to put it. As long as you could get it to stick to wood, I'm thinking it would probably be perfect for a cornhole board.

PresBG has made some pretty awesome ones! I know he paints them all himself but don't know how he gets the shapes on. You could ask him though!

I'm pretty sure he draws it by hand, using a picture as a guide. Which is pretty impressive if you've ever seen them.

I have a set with the "Revised Falcon" and the interlocking BG. But, mine look horrible because I have no artistic ability.

Agreed. I have to admit, that old Roomie of mine made some bad-ass cornhole sets.
