Does it make sense to consider building more parking space where the practice fields are?
I love the idea of building parking space on those fields. Maybe even paved parking.

Softball field. My not-good.

Another question: Are they going to sell the goal posts?

And will the field be lower at all after they are done?

Also, what kind of events might we now see at DLP with the Fielturf coming?

Finally: What does Noah say about this transgression against his will?

not sure what they will do about practice fields, but I heard they are suppose to be replacing the turf in the field house also.

Makes sense that they would replace both. Not a bad deal if the price is the same for both fields.

Truly, DLP is going to look amazing next year. It already has been taking on a new and different feeling, sleeker, more modern, etc. I think the turf will like really good.

My thoughts exactly. First off, I am very happy we are putting in a new playing surface, and second, I am even happier it is FieldTurf. Great news!

I'm all for this! This gives us a chance to make money, utilize the "speed" we've recruited and is a key element in showing BG's commitment to upgrading the facilities to D-1 status!

I have no problem with grass, as long as it doesn't cost us any games....... :x

Doesn't BG have enough parking or are people too lazy to walk from their cars to the stadium?

About time

Post by KeyWestParrot »

It's about time they finally release something about the field turf. I like the fact they are putting it in and that is coming from a traditionalist when it comes to playing surfaces.

I hope it is as nice as Toledo's.

Are you talking about the field, or the parking lot? Cause I'd love to have a parking lot paved as nicely as Toledo's field is.

Even Rockette fans will tell you Toledo's field is not nice...Erik Estrada called it "muy grande fajita crapola" on the last ChiPS reunion show.

So far as the practice fields go...turning them into paved lots would be nice for hockey traffic and the like...but I think it would be great if they were to think outside the box a bit and come up with something a little different.

Why not put the bookstore into somehting a bit nicer than a tent? Why not look into creating a plaza for food vendors...maybe even some inside seating. Somehting to make game day a liitle more attractive. it's not like they'd have to shutter the thing during the offseason....
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.

Actually we were thinking of the genteel fans of Miami during their trips to BG.

Such a long walk they have now, we hear no end to the complaints about how their cheese gets warm before they find their seats.
