McGrady's Injury Status

Post by Crew Love »

Has anyone heard word of McGrady's injury status?

The replay of the hit he took to the head was scary enough, but then seeing him fall back and land on his neck added salt to the wound.

Here's hoping and praying that Cornelius is okay and back out on the football field as soon as possible.

Radio said he was OK, "just" a concussion.

TV said he was "pretty much okay", likely had a concussion (they said he lost consciousness for a few minutes), but they were gonna run some CAT scans and other tests at the hospital just to make sure.

Lining him up and making the hit was fine, leaving your feet and leading with your helmet to his earhole seems a little less fine. And I won't EVEN get started on the standing over him after the hit and the apparent taunting of the fans while he laid on the field.

I agree - it looked like spearing to me, much more so than the hit in our game, IMO.

But TV showed his hands moving as they loaded him. He was obviously out cold, so they will take every possible precaution, and thank god for that.

Yeah, once I saw him try to lift his head, I felt a little better, moving his legs and arms on the ground made me feel better, then the hand gesture as he was loaded into the ambulance was a big relief. Hopefully he has a full, quick recovery. (If he can suit up the 23rd, even better! :) )

We were over on the turds sideline waiting to go out and march halftime and their players were all laughing and joking around about it. Our fans were taunting them but that was very disrespectful on their part to be laughing about it. He was laying there not moving and they were laughing and celebrating. If I wasn't in uniform, I would have started a fight. They were all about 5'8 or so but chances are they had guns and knives so I would have got killed :D

According to the game notes on bgsufalcons.com, McGrady has already been released from Wood County Hospital. A great, relieving sign!!!

I saw Corn walk into the lockerroom after the game. He seemed to be fine. What a relief!

Went to the hospital to see Corn after the game and arrived in time to walk with him to his parent's car. He had several tests including a cat scan and everything looked ok. He was knocked out and had a concussion. Was allowed to go home but with cautions. They prefer he not have any contact for a week.

Told him that he scared the s**t out of us. That made him smile that smile he well known for.

If you get a chance to meet Corn you will be the better for it.

Proud to be his friend.

Their team is tasteless. I watched all of their antics during the injury...very poor sports. I expected more from a college football player...oh well, let down again!

Bowling Green, Ohio - Folowing a helmet to helmet hit prior to halftime, senior wide receiver Cornelius McGrady suffered a significant concussion and was transported to Wood County Hospital for testing and observation. CT Scan and X-rays were normal, without any significant findings. He has been discharged and will be under the care of the BGSU sports medicine staff. He will continue to be evaluated and a decision will be made later on his availability for the Toledo game, November 23.

Thank God he is okay! That was a heck of a hit. I felt so bad for him out there. I am glad he is okay and hopefully he can be ready to play against Toledo.

Was anyone else disturbed by the fact that they showed the hit multiple times in slow-mo on the video board? The kid is laying there on the ground for heaven's sake. Show it once and then let it be.

To be honest, I was actually glad they showed it. I could not see who went down or how it happened from my point of view. For awhile I thought it was Omar until they showed it on the screen. I know it might not be respectful but not everyone can always see what happened...
