Top 2008 Draft Prospects

Post by kslates »

Todd McShay has a list of the top 5 players at each position for next years NFL draft. Surprised to see who the number center is...

Centers
1. Kory Lichtensteiger, Bowling Green
2. John Sullivan, Notre Dame
3. Doug Legursky, Marshall
4. Tony Brinkhaus, Minnesota
5. Trevor Rees, Northwestern

After the O-fer this year, I was wondering about BG's possibilities for next year. I figured that Kory was a first day prospect, but I am pleasantly surprised to see him at #1. The top center usually goes no later than the second round.

That's awesome, I love Todd McShay and I miss wasting all afternoon watching College Coaches Spotlight on ESPNU. I hope they're back again this season!

McShay only ranks next year's seniors and not underclassmen. Still a nice sign for Kory

I would have to say that he is ranked high for a couple of reasons. First and foremost, he is obviously a very good lineman. But, what NFL teams seem to be looking for more than anything is a versataile lineman. And guess what, that's KL. He has played another position other than center along the o-line. I think it is great. Hopefully some other guys get drafted after some hard work this offseason and some success during the season.
