JD leaving for IU

Post by ZiggyZoomba »

Thought I'd post this on JD's behalf. He's always been more than gracious to me and helped out a ton with getting me info for this site. IU hoops is GOD around Bloomington... I hope he knows what he's getting himself into. Seems like a fantastic opportunity for him!

Good luck, JD!

Just wanted to let everyone know that I am leaving BGSU to take a
similar position at Indiana. I will oversee the media relations
office at IU and be the primary contact for men's basketball. I
will start my new role June 2 and my family will make the move after
baseball season in late July.

I have enjoyed this ride as much as anything in my life and have
valued the friendships I have made with those of you who we have
dealt with on a daily basis. This is an outstanding group of
professionals to work with, but better people to know.

Mike and Dave will be handling everything in the interim.
Hopefully, we can have one last Tuesday media lunch before I go so I
can thank all of you personally.

Thanks again for your kindness, friendship and professionalism.

Good news for JD...I like JD...he was always willing to answer emails and engage in conversation...even if things got a tad contentious.

Will they promote from within? (Mike Cihon), or hire someone new? I suppose that's up to both Greg C. and Mike C.

Good luck to JD!

Not necessarily with the new position, but moreso with dealing with people in this part of the world.

Who knows? Maybe BGSU33 will make another appearance on campus?

Mike Cihon seems like an excellent choice to me, with what he has done in the Women's Basketball area of communications it has been nothing short of stellar. We'll have to see if we can tear him away from covering the Lady Falcons though. :-k

Ya know, he covers others sports already...
