Badger Hockey Showcase

Post by dharrisfan2003 »

Congrats on making the Badger Hockey Showcase. If you don't know what this is, it's a hockey "tournament" with 4 teams including the hosting team, Wisconsin. It used to be one of the premier Christmas weekend tournaments, but now it's usually teams in the Midwest region (used to have BU, BC, etc.). Good luck in the tourney, and good luck football season.

BG vs. Northeastern and Wisconsin vs. Colgate... so much for "Midwest region teams"

Just kidding.. thanks for the heads up on this. I don't think our hockey schedule has been released yet, it's exciting that we got in a bigger name event in the non-conference schedule.

It USUALLY is midwestern/boardering schools (I.e. Northern Michigan...) that play in it. Feel free to come up, because tickets should be easy to come by, since it's Holiday season. The Kohl Center is an awesome facility, where the Mens and womens basketball teams also play at. How's BG's football team looking?

How's BG's football team looking?

lol, you mean aside from our gay new logo, stupid as hell punt formation, crack head QB that blows that the same coach who will not recognize has the gay logo, stupid as hell to die by punt formation will most likely start the crack head QB....
Ill say its looking like an interesting season...esp since were getting "field turf" which of course will not help our football team, but will allow more use of the facility ...that droped a realy big piece of concrete when the bolts failed a few years ago.
It looks a typical BG season...some unknowns, some knowns, like the BCS sucks and needs to be demonopolized and a playoff system that is fair and equitable to all D1 schools put in place....did I forget anything...oh yea..and with our booming attendance numbers and our bigest home game set for student break...were sure to end up in oh...the patroit league of D2 some time...
did I also forget..whew hew Temple is in the MAC!!!! we rock.

MACMAN, I was on-board for your fund raising idea, but on second thought, go f**k yourself. I'll not support anyone who is so readily willing to throw his school under the bus.

You truly do suck balls.

Wasn't this tourney called the Badger Showdown in the past? We have come up for two of the three (I think) times we have played in this tourney. I think we played in the Bradley Center when we came. Is this the same place, but renamed? I would love to come up and see KP again!! Thanks for info about the tourney!! Hope we can make it!! btw, do you have dates for that yet?

btw, aren't you glad you asked about the football team? ;-)

It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

I'd bet their season ticket base is large enough to demand advertising for them in the spring. Unfortunately, it looks like last year we didn't advertise them until late September.

On the bright side, the past two years have seen the schedule posted on May 16 and May 19. I'd bet this year's is coming this week or next.

The Kohl Center is in Madison. I don't think BG has ever played there.

We could advertise with a title of "Three Peat in '08" on a brochure, we dont need to specify this would be a last place three peat.

The schedule is usually done in April, they just have to get all the travel arrangements more concrete.

I wouldn't be surprised to see the schedule released next week.
