RUIT,
While at BG for a leadership conference this past weekend (May 11-12), I took some time to actually walk around the SEBO and onto the current "turf" on the field to see if any more had been stripped off (it hadn't).[Wish I'd thought to dig up a little bit of the scraped off area to bring home to put in my yard, but didn't]
The concrete "stands" for the band had basically all been poured and set..looked as if the whole band could play on them NOW. Some corner finishing touches need to be done, but the main stands are done, unless they're going to put in some type of bench seating (which I'm assuming they will).... my "take" on the SEBO is the same as it was a week ago....looking 'up close' thru the windows, I saw nothing on the main floor but a few exercise bikes grouped together.... Supposedly the completion date is now June 1...but it seems as if there's a TON of work to be done inside and out in order for that date to be met.
And PLEASE Tony, no comparisons to another poster...this isn't meant to be negative, just a progress report (or lack of same?)

Have they torn down the stands yet?

from what i heard from someone, and stories are sometimes just stories, but was told that they will just be fold up chairs on the concrete for the band and they can take them down after the games, or something.

To be honest, that would probably be best since that has been designated as the seating for the Falcon Marching Band. And not all members of the band sit down either (for example...Maggots and Percs)

Hey, a lot of people do because their leadership is too lazy to get them to stand the entire game...if it was up to the maggots anyway, there'd be no seats at all for anyone in the band! Not even the guard!!

Hey, as someone who has been leadership (4 years of it), if people are going to sit down, there's not a whole lot the leadership can say to change their minds and make them stand. If people are lazy, people are lazy. Also, part of the "problem" very well could have been that regardless of whether you stand or sit, sometimes you won't be able to see the game either way. Obviously, I can't speak for everyone, but if I am unable to see the game even if I stand, then I would be more inclined to just sit and watch the jumbotron.

i will usually try to stand the entire game, but sometimes I just need to sit down to take a rest. But I am usually right back up standing after a few mins or so!

Most of the euphs stand the whole game. We sure did have some lazy freshman this year though.

No seats for the band would be awesome. That'd teach those lazy nugeyes who sit down and don't pay attention.

I'd say no kidding at all. If you're not hurt, you should stand. The band should take a knee when somebody is hurt on the field, but other than that, the band should always be standing, engaged in the game, and paying attention to what the drum majors are saying.

I don't believe anyone should take a knee on concrete.....unless they name is Osama.

Bench seating should exist solely because of the alumni band. Cushioned and reclining bench seating with room for our walkers. :-D
