Memories of BG-PU 2003

Post by BGSUFootballFan »

This played over the jumbo-tron about 15mins prior to the game starting, I'm sure some of you who were there will remember it. It's the last time Purdue ever tried to sell superhero cards because they lost to a "weak MAC" school, also the last time they ever wore the Gold Jerseys because they were supposedly bad luck. Hopefully we can do the same to Minnesota or MSU this year!

Yes, that is true. I remember at the start of the season fans around here were talking Rose Bowl and even an outside chance of winning the National Championship. That didn't last very long! Sept. 6th, 2003 the best day of my life! :D

Before that game, I was really confident that J5 was going to lead that team to a win. It was actually a little weird how I couldn't even imagine us losing that game. I had the same sort of feeling a couple years later at Wisconsin, but the result was different.

That game was definitely my favorite memory as a Falcon fan. Sitting in the 8th row on the 15 yard line, I had one of the best seats in the house to see Chuck's catch. I still have no idea how he got up and held on to that ball.

I miss those days of BG football.

losers.

I thought I had it posted somewhere, but apparently not. If no one else steps up, I might be able to work some magic later. But I swear it's been online somewhere before...

Those pics are just from the Purdue Gold and Black Newspaper from the following day. I also have a quick video clip of it, its from the Coaches show with Gregg Brandon, the episode right before the Oklahoma game. I also think they might have shown a clip during Gameday Crew for NIU game which I also have on tape. Not sure how I upload those on to a computer, if someone knows how I can put them up. Also if anyone knows how I could get a copy of the BG-PU game on tape somehow I would give everything I own to have that on tape!!!!!!!

That was the best day of football ever. It would be pretty hard to top it.

Yeah highlights from this game our hard to come by. Seems like this game wasn't televised anywhere from what I remember. I also recall that ESPN didn't really even show any highlights of it that day.

Nice pics too, this image I have in my head is about the same as the picture. :)

It was right in front of me, so I have a really strong memory of it. I have been at Purdue for both of the wins.

It was a great day. I remember fans coming up to me in the bathroom and asking "where is Bowling Green, anyway."

So glad I made the trip as well. My happiest day as a BG fan. Thanks to Option for selling me some tickets in the Downtown Parking lot at 3:00 AM that morning :)
