Tent thanks....

Post by ZiggyZoomba »

Thanks to everyone who came out to the Ay-Ziggy-Zoomba.com tent!!! It was awesome to see SO MANY people!! We were easily the best attended tent, we had the best food, the best people, and the most FUN!!!

Thanks again everyone who helped, participated, cooked, heated, and just showed up!! I was really overwhelmed with the attendance!

Next year I'm hiring a guy to sit in there with a shotgun to keep our beer/food/booze safe from the likes of those two jerk-offs who thought it would be great to eat/drink and generally pillage the tent.

I found it even more annoying when they came back after the game and tried to "make peace" with us... Since they had downed someone's Captain Morgan, drinking it out of the styrofoam chile bowls, I am sure they were very sober in their discussion.... BUT, If they would have brought in the case of beer that they promised, then it would have been different.... :partyman:

We had a genuine blast too!!! Just loved it that so many people stopped by! It's a credit to you and this phenomenal board you have given us!! :supz: BTW, did you get enough $$ to help out with the cost of the tent?

Wish I could have made it but we only had like 30 minutes for break before our field house show in the morning

That was my son's Captain Morgan that was pilfered. No problem, I raised him correctly--he had a spare bottle. We made out in the beer department: when we arrived home I found more beers in our cooler than we left with! Go figure...

Seriously, the tent was great and the attendance was fantastic! The players who dropped by after the game really made our day. BG does not recruit hooligans, only very nice, polite kids. Thanks, Grant, for a really memorable experience at BG.

Yeah Grant, thanks for the great time. It was nice to meet you and everyone else from the board.

We definately need to organize something before the Tole_o game, but I don't think that we should pay for a tent as that would be tacit support (financially) for something at that hole in the ground! :D

I feel bad I didn't have a chance to stop by! Due to my roommate waking up late Saturday morning, we barely made it in time to get the free t-shirts at the stadium! I wanted to stop by afterwards but I was tired and I had to prepare for a birthday party that night.

I'm glad you guys had a good time and next time I promise I will stop by and say hey! :)

Two years ago, a bunch of us met in a parking lot and had a blast despite the subzero temps and the crappy game. Freak, what lot did we meet in for that game? We should meet there again!!

Nice to see everyone again...except for those of you I didn't actually see... falconboy, where were you buddy?

Maybe we can set out a few "loaded" beers next year for the tent squirrels.
Maybe we could put some O'Doul's in a Killian's bottle. That'll show em...

Mike -- Are you going to park in lot 25 (I think that's the lot we parked at in 2002) off of Dorr Street? Michelle and I are taking a half-day so we can get there at a decent time. I'm ready to rock!

Ed,
If that's where we were in 2002, that's where I'm parking. I am taking a half day off as well as the 24th to celebrate the big win over UT!

I'm trying to finalize my plans as far as tailgating goes, I'm going to the game with my dad and a friend of his, who usually tailgates at the Doyt, so I'm assuming he'll be up for it on the 23rd. I agree that we need to figure out a common lot and try to get as much brown and orange together as possible!

Here's a UT campus map, I've never been there to tailgate, and don't think I've been to their campus since '96 at least, so I don't know how close together anything is.

I think Lot 25 is the best possible site for BG fans to get together. Plenty of room and very easy to find. Corner of Dorr and Secor.

Anyone else have any thoughts?

I believe my expertice is required here. (yeah right)

Lot 25 is nice an spacious and all, and some of it was recently resurfaced and it got a little addition. but tis kind of far away from the stadium comparitivly.

Lot 28 would be just a pimpin' good time if we could get it. I will be there plently early, and as long as we could get a few people to meet up and park there eary enough, we would secure a prime location that is honestly quite over looked. Its a staff lot but about 10 prof actually park there during the day.

the massive(not so anymore) lot east of lot 25 would be good too, but they are building a new dorm there, and Im not sure about how much space is not fenced in the construction site.

There is also the engineering lot, which is massive, and usually the last to fill up, which would accomodate us. Plus the engineering school is much less moronic than the rest of the school, as we act almsot as a seperate entity, there will be less jerkholes there to cause trouble.

those are just my thoughts. I will drive into BG/toledo monday night. And aside from gettong World of WarCraft the moment best buy opens, i have nothing else to do besides cook food in my future alma matter parking lots.

I had a blast at the tent. It was great to see everyone again. It was great seeing a couple former players before the game and having a couple current players stop by after the game. After the game when we left the tent Ed and I went to Frickers to get a bite to eat before the vollwyball game. We saw Gavin Powell, Teddy Piepkow, Mike Thaler, and Omar. Mr. McGrady stopped by Fricker's to tell te players how Cornelius was doing.
