Florida gets "Meyer-ed"

Talk about the Buckeyes the Wolverines the Hilltoppers the Ducks the Beavers the Chanticleers... or anyone else who isn't BG or an opponent in this forum.

Meyer will be off to the NFL in a year or two and Florida will be a basement dweller school where they belong along with Miami and FSU.

After reading that article I'll have to disagree with you

Why? because the article mentioned they have some decent recruits comming in? because they may take villinova's coach?

I meaan I am assuming you disagree with the part about Florida being a basement dweller? correct?

I wouldn't be suprised if some of the recruits defect from Florida and sign elsewhere since the coach who recruited them is now leaving. If Donovan left, what would keep someone else from leaving? Florida is a Football school and a basketball coach will never be number 1 there.

I think Matta will leave OSU in a year or two as well. I think if Kentucky would have offered him, he would have been gone this year but that's just me.

Why wouldn't he want to deal with Mike Vick, Randy Moss, etc, etc, etc. At OSU he has to deal with the likes of (fill in the blanks with your top three choices) 1.___________ 2.___________ 3.___________

His ego is too big to not give it a shot..he has the personality, more than Tressell to deal with adult football players who are playing football as a job, instead of for a job.

Tressell may make a better NFL coach with his style of coaching but I can not see his personality having to deal with the Michael Vicks, Randy Moss, the TO's of the league. He enjoys being the father figure and helping the college kids grow. He doesnt want to have to babysite 30 year olds. The NFL doesn't suit him...Meyer could handle the Ego's better and he s better suited for the NFL, personality wise but he will be a horrible NFL coach because he can only run a gimmick offense..that will not work in the NFL.
I guess I don't know the two of them personally well enough to make that judgement call. Maybe someday I'll get the chance to hang out with the two guys and see how they operate. I'll get back to you if that ever happens.

Kudos to you for having that opportunity.....because I'm sure that a level-headed person such as yourself wouldn't make such personal judgements about the two individuals without acquiring that information first hand. What a wonderful life you must have had so far to have had the opportunity to sit down with Urban Meyer and talk with him about his views on the game and see his ego for what it is. And I'm sure that you must have spent a great deal of time with Tressel behind the scenes and witnessed his drive and ambition to encourage his players to grow as model citizens.

I am so envious.

First off, you don't need to know them personally to see that. You can tell by the way they act on the sidelines, in their interviews, what others who do say about them. You can get enough to make those conclusions.

Meyer has the personality and the ego to coach in the NFL. You could tell that when he was at BG. He is a NO BS type of coach who will knock you down as soon as you get a big head. He gets animated on the sideline, he yells, he gets mad he reeks of the kind of demeanor and personality that a NFL coach needs.

Watch Tress on the sidelines. He shows no emotion, he is calm, always seems cool, never seems mad. He just does his thing.

Second, those are observations, not judgements.

Third, about Tressell being the father figure, you do not have to witness it. Once again you can observe it and listen to what the players will tell you about him. No example is better than Troy and how quickly he grew up and he said that his turnaround was all thanks to Coach Tressell.

Simple observations. I pay enough attention to what goes on with OSU football, interviews, watching the actions during the games to pick up on this. Anyone who pays attention could. You being anti - OSU obviously do not pay attention.

Fourth - Your reply is the most hypocritical post ever. How dare you to tell me I can not form an opinion based on observations that I made about my team. You BG folks criticize and make observations about your pathetic coach all the time..Wow it must be so cool to know him so damn personally that you can make such judgements

Actually, I am glad I do not know him. He frickin sucks. Horrible coach.

What? Couldnt fill in any blanks yourself?

Didn't think so.

The only asshole he has had to deal with was Clarrett and he handled that pretty nicely by kicking him off the team but staying in touch to try to help him figure and straighten his life out. Clarett's own fault for F'n up his own life. at leat Tress tried to help the kid, even after he was out of OSU

I didn't say anything about your not being allowed to form opinions. I was simply letting you know how seriously I take them.

Although I will say this, I must have hit pretty close to home to get you all worked up like that.

I'm impressed that you can hear me from Columbus. If only my fiance listened that well.

He refers to himself in the third person. He responds to things to which he claims not to pay attention. He is a hoot.

And apparently he thinks he knows me well enough to guess my orientation, just like he thinks he knows you that well.

Not that he would ever jump to conclusions, just like he doesn't jump to conclusions about coaches.

no I was stereotyping....it is a stereotype that men do not listen. Since you complain about your fiance not listening, I went along with the stereotype and guessed that you were the female.

Maybe I am wrong and your just a girly man as Arnold would put it?
Correct me if I am wrong instead of being sarcastic and I won't go out of my way to be rude to you.

Well, remember that Teke is the one who said, in a classic post about spelling, "spelling is not important on a message board and i is homosexual to think so". Define irony.

it is homosexual to think so....just like it is homosexual to go to UT and be proud to flaunt colors that are yellow, gold or maize whatever you want to call it, with blue.

the one thing that I do know for sure that is true, is that chicken s**t is maize and blue

Wow, you are really good with colors, bikini. Ever think of a career as a decorator? Oh, wait, I'm sorry, I didn't mean, well, you know-you just seemed sooo sure of yourself in that arena.

But I'm sure that doesn't mean you're, well, you know and hey, its A-ok if you are-its just the whole denial thing, ya know? You got a lot of "coming out" issues, tiki. The closet BG fandom, the gender confusion... let it go, little buddy. You'll feel a lot better.
