beastnasty's post above is absolutely right on target. Perefect in my eyes. bleeding orange backs it up. If you look for reasons to NOT support, NOT buy a season ticket, NOT pitch in to help our school then you will never do the above three things.

Because there is always an excuse. Always.

Our athletic dept/teams/personnel will always do things we don't like. Always.

And about 99% of the time, they will be representing us well. 99% is my SWAG number- and very close based on following BG sports for 40 years!

If you can afford to buy a season ticket, do so. If you can only come to one game, do so. If you live in Minneaopolis and can just get to the Gopher game, do so.

Above all else, HAVE FUN! Being a Falcon fan has brought me some of my most joyful moments with family and friends. Sure, we can post- and should- good constructive comments and advice- we are FANS. But support the program however you can- and maybe go one step further as we need the help in my opinion.

Go Falcons!

I always thought I heard that it was about 14K each way when I was there a little after 1990.
That's about right. We don't disagree, really.

If they expect or want people in the seats, they cannot keep scheduling the way they do. Who the hell wants to see Western KY and the like. If support by fans is wanted, then they better give us a reason to come to the game. there has been no effort so far to schedule a decent team at the Doyt.

Minnesota much? Whether you believe that game will take place or not, it's on the schedule.

I'll agree that I'd like to see more, but I think we're working toward some things under GC. Give it time.

Here is a reason for coming to Doyt Perry Stadium, THE DAMN FALCONS ARE PLAYING!! I don't care if the opponent is Owens Community College, it's a home game. And that should be all the reason any of us who are able needs to make the trip.

I never thought I would agree with this a-hole so much. :-D

Seriously, if you need to see anyone other than the Falcons in DLP, you need to transfer or become an OSU fan. Any way you cut it, you're lame.

I agree with both of you a-holes. :)

What you have to understand, though, is that the majority of the people on this site represent the vast minority of the BG community. The general public, that doesn't share the same obsession with BG football that most of us do, will not come fill DLP unless the team is awesome and getting national pub, or there is a quality opponent that is marketed correctly.

I agree that GC seems to get this so far, and is working to get better teams in town. Minnesota will be a great step forward if it actually happens. He has a lot of work to do to win back some people he pissed off with this year's schedule, but it looks like he's well on his way.

Perfectly said. I go to all the games to see the FALCONS win! Anytime there's a game at the Doyt and it involves BG, I'm there.

Seeing BG play @ The Doyt is great.
Seeing interesting opponents is even greater.

"Vast minority?"

There are 30,000 people in BG right? There are, what, maybe 500 active posters on this site? And maybe a few hundred that could be considered die-hard?

A few hundred out of 30,000 doesn't represent a vast minority to you?

No. It doesn't sound vast at all.
