Coach Dakich Back to Indiana?

Post by bg70 »

Heard yesterday that Dan will be named Director of Basketball Operations at Indiana. Anyone else heard this?

I hadn't heard what he was going to be doing, but yes, I too heard he was going back to IU.

That sounds like a great move for him! Either that, or the #9 truck with the Gary Public Works Department. ;-) (His joke.... not mine...)

WOW! That would be a great move. I would be very happy for him is this pans out.

I could see that happening and working out as JD is the media contact for men's basketball now!

Regardless of your thoughts on DD, you can't deny his love for BGSU. AD Christopher should consider a position for DD here if not IU would gain a great Alum.

A director position at Indiana would probably be a pay raise over his coaching job here, and I have to imagine it's been his dream to go back to IU.

Most director of basketball operations jobs are entry level. In most instances, someone with that title would hope to move up to a third assistant. Doesn't sound like a position DD would want.

not entry level at IU--person who just retired from that job had been head coach at oregon and tennesee!

I heard about this a couple of weeks ago, too. Seems like a good job for him. He's great at getting along with people - as long as they aren't playing basketball for him. B.G.S.U. is still paying him until the 30th, right?

I wish Coach D nothing but the best...anyone can tell how much he loves BGSU. If he wants to be at IU, I hope that's where he ends up!

Regardless of the W's and L's, the man is all class. Pretty funny dude as well. I miss him already.

I heard about the Dakich to IU thing in an e-mail from the head of our alumni chapter today, too. No word around the Central Indiana news biz, though.

I hear it's not a done deal, but it's a pretty good certainty.
