I know you are going to play it off as you were joking but I do not think that you are...in the back of your mind you are serious..Because it effects one of your players...the women should be in jail..but if this was an OSU or UT player...you would want 10 years in prison..

Grammar corrections are never a cop out. I don't give a crap about your opinion on any subject what-so-ever, that's why I don't have a response for you. And, in actuality, I DID have a response for you, it just wasn't what you were looking for, was it? Awwwwwwww, sorry.
Poor grammar and spelling tells a lot about people, IMO.

Poor grammar and spelling tells a lot about people, IMO.
A) They are not intelligent enough to form a coherent sentence.
or, B) They don't care about how unintelligible their comments are, even when the communication medium is the written word.
Spelling errors are generally a sign that you are not well read. People who read are generally better spellers as they've seen the words often enough to have an idea in their minds' eye as to how they should look.
Typos happen to everyone, and they're perfectly understandable. However, consistent spelling and grammar mistakes show a lack of care on the author's part to put together a coherent post. When you're communicating through writing, and in many cases this is our first & only impression of somebody, I think you should take the time to ensure you're post is intelligible.
Personally, I find it very hard to take a poster seriously if their posts are consistently full of spelling and grammar mistakes. On top of that they're just plain hard to read, and easier skipped over

I don't think it's an intelligence thing, per se, (at least not in all cases) but I DO think it's a self-pride and respect for others thing... ESPECIALLY on this board where we've been pretty consistently vigilant when it comes to grammar and spelling.
Maybe we're snobs, but if I see a post w/ poor spelling, poor grammar, or that's just poorly put together, I assume the poster just doesn't care, and therefore I don't care much about their post. This varies case-by-case too, if it's someone just goofing, then it doesn't matter, but if it's someone actually TRYING to make a coherent point and consistently blowing the English language all to hell, then it doesn't hold water for me.

I totally agree. When I was a kid and made grammatical mistakes, my mom and grandma (both teachers) were quick to correct me. It was a pain in the keister but I certainly appreciate it now. Poor grammar DOES make an impression. Beleed dat!ZiggyZoomba wrote:What do you mean, "once again?" Round these parts people who completely butcher the english language are thought to be idiots. That's the danger of posting an a board owned by one English major and moderated (in part) by another.
Let me put it in terms you can grasp. Yo, you suck!

One of my minors was technical communcations. That has to count for something. FalconFanatic is a teacher. Zom (food forum) lives in England. You CAN'T get any more English unless you shared bangers and mash with Queen Elizabeth today*.
We're just a bunch of Grammer[sic] dicks. It's just something one must accept.
