Chris Knight had passed 6hrs last summer and 14hrs 1st semester. Kids need 24 in a year. So anything he didnt get would be under the new staffs watch. Can you please let everyone no Hambb who else was academics risks since Dan only had 2 categories that he recruited. 3 in 10 years hardly seems to qualify for a huge category. Knight is at home taking an online class to get elgible by the way. But if you are going to make in correct statments then back it up with some facts.
McLeod & Wright would be two who were also academic risks that did make it.

I though sure there were others, but I cannot think of them off the top of my head.

Ranger--not trying to insert myself. But are you saying Knight didn't do anything in the second semester?

I know I always try to back up my incorrect statements with some facts. ;-)

In all, DD didn't take on that many academic risks. Furthermore, a mid-major coach needs to take a calculated academic risk here and there. IF it pays off, you get Keith McLeod for four years. If it doesn't, the scholarship becomes available again soon enough. There was no issue with DD taking on too many marginal students.

Perhaps you guys are right. I think the problem was just compounded by all the transfers. Every year we'd have a new batch of freshmen, and it seemed as though each year the best player of the group would be academically ineligible as a freshman. Then each year we were left hoping to see them play. Then in the offseason we'd lose players and the last ones (Harwell & Sullivan) never panned out.

It's just been frustrating.

What about Leon Petty
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.

That was an ACADEMIC RISK, to put it mildly. He was supposedly one of the very best in Indiana, but he fell off the face of the Earth his senior year and did nothing afterward.

Harwell was an academic risk, but he blew out of town because he didn't like the rules and hard work. Wright was an academic risk, but he stayed eligible for 3 years and left because, basically, he was a shithead. Netter, too, was a low-grade academic risk, but he muddled through. Moten was an academic risk, but so far so good.

Just in case anybody doubts that I'm a hardcore OCD for Falcon hoops: A fine fella at bgsufalcons.cstv.com informs me that they are waiting for the "official go ahead" to add Chris Knight to summer roster. That is good news, imao. :)

Maybe with all the grammatical/spelling errors in this message, this guy would be academically ineligable...Good thing he wasn't recruited.
