TIPP CITY — Tyler Johnson, a Tippecanoe High School graduate who just finished his senior year at Bowling Green, signed a free-agent contract with the Toronto Blue Jays on Friday. The right-handed pitcher reports to the Toronto rookie camp in Dunedin, Fla., next week. He was the No. 1 starter for BG with a 6-5 record and 2.53 earned-run average. He ranked in the top 10 in the Mid-American Conference in seven pitching categories.

Great news for TJ and well deserved. He faced a lot of adversity with his elbow etc the past couple of years and worked very hard to come back and have a great senior year.
