Well today is the big day, my nephew finds out if he has been selected for the district (Ohio, MI, Indiana, western PA, kentucky) U16 festival team or not. I could not believe the number of coaches I saw at this thing, the CCHA was inforce as well as the regular scouts for the area. anyway I was checking my photos and came on this 10 shot burst of this kid. The kid will in all likely hood be the started for the team in net, I believe he only let one goal in all the scrimages they had and was spot on in his drills...anyway dont know his name yet, I will have to ask my nephew..but if he keeps developing he would be a fine addition to BG
perusual I had some information wrong...it was the USA select 14 ie the 1993 birth years but the rest was correct..
My nephew made the 1st team!

I was thinking the exact same thing....
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second." ~~USCHO Poster "BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got." ~~USCHO Poster, AFTER Tech beat us #NeverGiveUp

Well the hockey in Rochester NY was flipping amazing by the reports from the inlaws who were in attendance. My nephew did quite well and his report from the coaches and break down by the scouts in attendance was quite good. All the kids are looking forward to growing even though over 60% will not make it back to next years top week for and number of reason the 60%+ rate of attrition seems high, but when taking things like growth spurts and developmental spurts and well just lack of interest and injuries its understandable.
While my Nephew wont be quiting any time soon I sure hope he makes it back for another quality experience like this.
