Saddlemire Close to Being Torn Down
Received the following note earlier this afternoon -
3. Saddlemire offices to begin moving to Conklin
A number of campus offices are beginning a month-long move to new homes in Conklin North. Most of them are migrating from Saddlemire Student Services Building, which will be torn down in July to make room for the future Wolfe Center for the Arts.
Moving on Thursday will be the BG Experience program, from the fourth floor of Moseley Hall to the first floor of Conklin. BGX is moving to join other student services programs in Conklin, where those that are most heavily involved with Orientation and Registration can gear up for the start of that program June 19.
The Office of Pre College Services will be the first Saddlemire office to move, on Friday afternoon and into Monday. That office's destination will be the fourth floor of Conklin, where the Center for Multicultural and Academic Initiatives will follow on Monday and Tuesday.
A story with the full schedule of June moves will appear in Monday's online Monitor.

It's a bit sad that the Projector is coming down. It's one of the shittiest designs in terms of comfort, but still creative none the less.

The narrow hallways leading to my probation hearing before school started freshman year... ahhhh, they will be missed.

Implosion isn't really needed with nothing being close to the building, and a bit expensive. I'd imagine this will be a bulldozer/big machinery job.

Maybe TG can put all of his hot air to good use for a change and huff and puff and blow the thing down.

I would have said you could have just painted the new Falcon on the side and given MACMAN an RPG.Bleeding Orange wrote:Maybe TG can put all of his hot air to good use for a change and huff and puff and blow the thing down.

And when was the last time I had a half-page post that said absolutely nothing?Bleeding Orange wrote:Maybe TG can put all of his hot air to good use for a change and huff and puff and blow the thing down.

The Office of Residence Life isn't a very used office? Or the Vice President of Student Affairs? Sorry, but you're a bit out of line with that comment. The Niz wrote:I will not miss the building at all. I am way too excited about the Wolfe building to care about a building that very few people ever use.

Actually I believe he is right in line with his comments when referring to the two offices specifically mentioned. They may "serve" students but they are anything but "student friendly" environments. Now I would have disagreed with him had he mentioned the office of student employment, the career center, or multi-cultural affairs. Those are offices where students are appreciated and go to for assistance.
