I forget the original thread on this kid, but is he considered a good pick-up? I'd assume it can't be too bad, if he came from another D-1 school, but I'm just wondering...

Not big on the Johnnies, but if we can just get him a panda tat and some knee socks he'll be set.

That's a Shocker! ;-)

I think people were afraid he was a little too "Floyd-esque," but personally, I think a true point-guard is a HUGE need... if he fits, and coach Orr must think he will, then I'm all for it! Welcome back to NW Ohio, Joe!! You're a Falcon now!

I agree with Grant regarding the PG issue. We don't have one. So if he can play that position, then I think this is a great addition.

On the flip-side, I have to ask a question. Did we lose a player in order to have a scholarship available?

I think we had two avaialble. Matlock gets one (I'm suprised Andy Griffith can play at his age) and it looks like Jakubowski gets the other.

BTW...he's ** on Scout and *** on Rivals

Matlock was a package deal. We had to sign him to have a shot at Tyler Hudson.

Oh, the Jakubowksi signing is huge, too. He should be an immediate contributor. It's also no coincidence that this happened after Dakich departed. Floyd, now a SJJ assistant coach, probably didn't have the best things to say about him.

Also, the Jakubowskis are deeply religious, Christian people. It doesn't hurt that Coach Orr is cut from the same cloth.

Sounds reasonable. I can never keep those basketball scholarships straight. Didn't Dakich give one to Patrick Phillips?

I didn't want to be the first one to mention this, but I was thinking the same thing.

Getting Tyler Hudson would rock.

he can definately run the point. definately an upgrade from Floyd from what I've seen. he's pass first but can also shoot it pretty well if he needs to.

Well there's ALWAYS bad news lurking about Chris Knight it seems... it's just a matter of if any of it is true.

Always good to see at least one NW Ohio player on the team. Hopefully we can recruit well around BG and beyond to put the best team on the court with a local fan base that is interested. I expect to see some SJ kids in the seats.
I proudly chose to be a Falcon and a Falcon I will remain until the end.
