Kevin Leady, pitcher of the week in the Great Lakes League

Post by UK Peregrine »

I just saw that Kevin Leady is playing in the Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League again this summer. Kevin played pretty well in this league last summer with Lake Erie's team. But this year he seems to have stepped it up a notch. He is leading this wood-bat league in overall ERA at 0.36.

I used to watch the Grand Lake Mariners in this league back when I lived in Ohio. Anyways, I highly recommend going out to watch a game this July if you get the chance. They're a lot of fun to attend and you get to see some pretty good collegiate baseball players.

BG players in the league include Dusty Hawk with Grand Lake this year , Marty Baird is playing with Kevin on Lake Erie, both Browning and Hangbers are with Lima's team, and Dennis Vaughn is with Stark.

Here's a couple of links on Kevin's week and the league itself if anyone is interested in attending a game sometime.

It is great to see Kevin stepping up and starting to reach his potential. Injuries and other factors have slowed his progress over the first two years at BG, but it looks like he could be on his way to what many expected from him initially, when he came to BG. Good luck Kevin.

I think the other factors have been more of an effect in the lack of performance by Kevin and others. The problems in this program are less the result of lack of players efforts than it is the result of poor coaching and recruiting. The blame lies at the top and not with the players!!! By the way, has anyone noticed Josh Dietz is off to a great start with Gateway, hitting .440!!!
