from what I have seen there is no postseason bantekekini wrote:I am not sure of the terms of the probation, if it includes post season ban until 2010 but if so then that would seem a little excessive to me as they had kicked the players of the team and had handled it internally. Apparently the NCAA didn't think they had done enough?
I don't know.

That may not be so bad then..a three season post season ban would be excessive in my opinion but since it doesn't look like there is one, then this should probably be ok.
This really ticks me off. Just a few years ago, Troy Smith, a young up and coming QB, was doing the same thing at OSU - taking money he didn't deserve. He got caught and got a ceremonial slap on the wrist. At Oklahoma, a really good athletic department with an incredible coach in Bob Stoops, had Rhett Bomar, a young up and coming QB, who was caught taking money he didn't deserve and Stoops kicked him off the team. No real difference between what the two players did, but big difference in the punishment. So why does Oklahoma get in all this trouble? It makes no sense how they get the axe while others don't. Bob Stoops is an incredible man who places good morals above a good team and he does not deserve this.

So does this mean the "Scooterettes" are going to be thrown out of the NCAA?

Troy only took a few hundred dollars, paid it back and it was not because he was getting paid for a job that he wasnt doing. Troy was just one player. OSU suspended him for two games, the NCAA took a look at it and thought the punishment was OK. Oklahoma had two players involved. They didnt pay their money back, it was much more than a few hundred bucks, and I havent heard for sure, but weren't these fake jobs arranged for them by someone within the team or athletic department? Thats the rumor I had heard but I havent read anything on this to confirm. All I know is there must have been more to it than you think. you don't get three years probation for nothing. You are simplifying it too much I think. It was either a siginificant larger amount of money, or it was arranged by someone with OU or something much more deeper than Troy's incident.

No.
Again you missed the point. My point is that Bob Stoops is a very moral and respectable guy and he took direct action and was punished for it. That's what ticks me off. I just picked Ohio State to compare it to because that's the most recent and most memorable event.
