BG NCAA 08 Impact Players
BG NCAA 08 Impact Players
A. Turner - OVR 83 / SPD 78 / THP 87 / THA 86
C. Bullock - OVR 84 / SPD 88
D. Briggs - OVR 83 / SPD 78
I'm really starting to wonder why Partridge isn't an impact player this year. He was an impact player in 07, and you would think after a good season last season (especially the end of the season) that he would have been a lock to be an impact player this year. I guess EA doesn't do it's research.
And I was hoping that Turner wouldn't be one this year considering he might not even start.
Thoughts?

Nah, I don't have it yet. Some guy on a NCAA message board got it, and said he would answer questions. So I asked for the impact players and ratings.hammb wrote:Do you guys have it yet? Does C&C have theirs yet? I talked with them yesterday and they were hoping to get it in today, and break the street date again this year (Viva la revolución!).
I'll probably stop in there and pick it up if they've got it.
I just read on the NCAA board of someone getting the game early at C&C games. So it looks like you're set!
Sweet. I'll head there after golf league then and grab my copy early. Heading to WV for a rafting trip this weekend, so I'm not sure how much I'll get to play it, but I'm anxious nonetheless.da3mite wrote:Nah, I don't have it yet. This will be the first time I'm not buying the game the day it comes out. I'll get it from gamefly the next day (thanks to their new shipping center in Pittsburgh), just in time to try it out on my new 47-inch LCD I'm buying myself as a "house-warming" present. NCAA '08 is going to pop the cherry on my new TV and house, so it better be damn good.
Turner will definitely not be an impact guy for me for long, because Glaud will be the starting QB from day 1. Turner can move to tight-end or WR or FB or whatever.
I wonder how fast Ransom and Bullock are.

This will be my first time not geting the game at all. I have loved it the last few years but I just need to stop playing games now that I will be back in school. It is very tempting tho...Jacobs4Heisman wrote:This will be the first time I'm not buying the game the day it comes out. C & C Games has it (for 360 at least). I just called them and am about to go pick one up.

I'll still be buying it, and I'll still play quite a bit of it, but even I must admit that it's not as good as they used to be. The one that had Joey Harrington on the cover was just a wonderful game, but they've kinda gone downhill since then. This year they finally redesigned recruiting entirely, and I hope it brings back some of the fun that it had 5 years or so ago.
It's no fun if I can persuade 5-star guys to come to BG in the first year of a dynasty...it makes it too easy.
Of course the online game is where it's really fun. Nothing like heading online with li'l ol' BG and beating some schmuck who thinks his Wolverines or Buckeyes are unstoppable

I do the same thing. Except it doesn't always work out. I played this one kid who was Ohio State in last years game, and he just killed me with Ted Ginn. I think he had over 600 yards alone!hammb wrote:I'll still be buying it, and I'll still play quite a bit of it, but even I must admit that it's not as good as they used to be. Certainly you are at a disadvantage going in. A good player with one of those teams will probably kick your tail.da3mite wrote:I do the same thing. Except it doesn't always work out. However, there are countless mediocre players who have good records because they always choose the best teams. If you're any good you can play a competitive game against them and sometimes pull off the win.
I played in a league once as BG back in the PS2 days, and that's when I figured out how to play the game. Constantly putting myself up against better teams online I figured out the quirks and nuances of the game to become a very good player. I don't play enough to be one of the best, but I am good enough to hold my own against most players.
My problem is defense. I can score on almost anyone with almost any team, but defensively I'm not real good...I rely on turnovers mostly to get my stops. A lot of that is the fact that BG's defense usually sucks in the game too, though.

I think the 3 should have been CP, Briggs, and Dozier. It's not really a big deal though, bc it can change during the season. Based off of last season Bullock was a good pick, but with ER coming in that could be a totally different situation!
4th & 13 on PU 32yd line.. 56,000 fans up on their feet screaming, i held my breath the entire play trying to make as little noise as possible.. wouldnt u know Sharon would make the biggest touchdown catch in the history of BG Football, FALCON UP!
