I think we normally got our forms for Season Tickets in September, if I remember.

I'm not going to be a season ticket holder for the first time in my life (31 seasons) and it makes me so sad, angry, depressed, any word you can think of to describe it.

I won't be a season ticket holder again until 2009.

As far as alumni go...At the First Contact Camp one prominent alumni said "we have to get this turned around, huh?" It's disturbing.

I won't go any further, because it just makes me angry and my blood pressure can't handle it!

So, just because you don't like the coach, you punish the university, the program and the boys who are playing? Brilliant. Maybe you should just stay home, we don't need you. All you people who are complaining about Scott, the program and anything else you can dig up are missing the whole point. It's not about supporting or not supporting one individual, it's about the University and the program as a whole. I am a Falcon first and foremost, and I will always be a Falcon, through the good times and the bad. When things seem to be at their worst, that's when the boys, and the program need your support the most. They don't need you to jump ship just because you don't like the coach. This whole situation has become absolutely ridiculous. And frankly, I'm tired of it.

Who are you to tell them how to spend their money? If you don't like the way an organizations is being managed, no matter how much you love it, it makes perfect sense to withhold your financial support until the perceived deficiencies are corrected. How the Hell else would management ever know that the general fan and donor base is unhappy?

I completely understand the sentiment of not wanting to "throw your money away" if you think it won't help. Monetary donations are a very personal thing for most people, and if they don't feel comfortable with where their money is going, chances are it isn't going anywhere.

I wouldn't make accusations to anyone who's been a loyal supporter for decades.

This is becoming a truly heartbreaking experience for many of us, and the decision to essentially change one's lifestyle is not made easily or quickly.

Maybe I came off as a little harsh, and for that I apologize. This is hurting me as much as anybody. But I don't see where bailing out on the program will do anything else, but hurt it even more. The situation will eventually be rectified, I have all the faith in the world in Greg Christopher. But, it won't happen overnight, so I say stick it out and don't forget the boys and the program. What goes around, comes around folks, it may take some time, but BG will get back to hockey prominence. Good times are ahead, but it's going to take some time. Sorry if I offended anyone with my previous post, I have a tendancy to wear my heart on my sleeve.

Why did Indiana change basketball coaches a year ago? It wasn't because everybody hated that guy, although it was a factor, it was because for the first time in years people were staying away in droves from the basketball arena, unheard of at IU. Don't know if that will work at BG because the administration seems to be blind deaf and dumb.

Falcon86 - thank you for softening your stand. Believe me no one wears their heart on their sleeve and more than TheKa; BGBill and I are right behind.
The problem as you and others point out: the only way to show discontent is either 1. cut back on the financial support or 2. take a torch and pitchfork to the house of the Pres or the AD. Option 2 is frowned on. Administrations can see numbers, they can not see unhappy people.
They will see the attendence is down, they will see that Falcon Club or season tickets sales are down. But who does this hurt in the end - the
program and the guys.
Yes, how do we show Jon, Ben, Mike, Mike, and John that we care about them; while showing the "powers to be" that we are up to here with the facility
and the program, 86 if you have any good suggestions, we will follow.

I am sure that I am not the only person that would like to keep the guys that we have ( and maybe Buddy ) and broom the rest. The Ad commented that he wanted a meg $ million facility with basketball on one side and 2 ice surfaces on the other side. Wow would that help the attitude.

If the Board comes back with $ 3 million and bigger roll of duct tape, that might kill the program.

BUT the season is less than 3 months away. We are undefeated, we are tied for 1st in the league, Falcon Fanatic is getting psyched, and the sun is out. it is a good day in Falcon Land.

This year will be the first year that hockey will be outdrawn by both basketball teams.

Mark it down.

Not collectively. If you counted each sport seperately, hockey will be outdrawn by men's and women's basketball. With the success of the women's team last year, the hype of Orr and the men's team, and the god-awful suckitude that hockey had last year....it's going to be ugly.

First and foremost, I would like to thank BGBill and Puckhead who have known me for years and know how difficult this is for me. Thanks Guys! :)

Secondly, did I EVER say I was pulling my support for the guys or the program? Did I EVER say I wasn't going to a single game? NO! I said I would not continue to spend hundreds of dollars a year to do so. The money, time and effort spend supporting this team in my lifetime is beyond imaginable to me...it's got to be in the high 10's of thousands of dollars.

Third, I cheered when Scott Paluch returned to BG as coach and I admit that I will cheer when he leaves. It's that simple. I'm doing this FOR the boys and the program, past, present and future. You can't know what I know and say any differently. I just can't imagine how anyone loves this program as much as I do can sit idly by and watch it turn into this. I've been at EVERY home game for 31 years (well...I'm sure I missed a game here or there due to illness!) and MANY road games as well. The only place in the CCHA that I haven't been is Alaska.

Fourth, Puckhead is right. What else can I do? I wrote the obligatory letter to the AD. BGBill is right. No one can know how painful this decision was for me and my family. It's basically the last thing that we used to do as a family before my Dad died in 1994 (mind you...less than a week after his last Falcon game.) and it was one way for us to stay connected with him. He LOVED this team and this program and I know he would stand by my decision. Actually, he probably would've made this decision years ago. My Mom has wanted to get rid of our tickets about 3 years ago. I made her keep them. This was not a decision I made lightly and it was not a decision I made at the spur of the moment, it was years in the making.

Lastly, BGDrew is right, as well. The bouncy ball teams WILL outdraw the Hockey team on average this season and will continue to do so until changes are made. according to the ccha.com, our average attendance was around 2000. I would guess that it'll be less than 2000 this coming season. This program and this athletic department cannot continue to do that.

GO FALCONS!!!
