Looking at how green the field is it also has suddenly occured to me that the Doyt must be receiving a lot more rain than where I am. My grass is brown... and not BG brown

It's disintegrating from where Grant put his hand in it. They said "Don't touch", but he just HAAAAAAD to go and touch. Way to go Grant! Now they're going to have to tear it up, play on gravel this fall, and take the Sebo down because of you.

I thought maybe some deer had bedded down there or something. ;-) There were a couple of areas like that, no more than two as of yesterday. Not sure what causes it nor what it means, but I'm sure it'll get taken care of.

I think it can also be caused by cute women sitting on rolled up turf.

That spot looks like it's a good 3' x 3'... I'll give you a moment to retract the attached picture, or at least lay your sleeping bag out on the porch. :-D

Perhaps it could be deer... or something else "bedding" down on the turf. . . I have heard stories about the 50 yard line and such. It would be pretty cool to lay claim to the first.... family site, family site....

"Bad piece"?

Post by Class of 61 »

Grant,
In one of the pix, it looks like there's a defect or a badly worn out piece of "carpet"? Was this from a piece they laid down? Hard to believe they'd install a defective piece of material, if for no other reason than the cost of the thing.

Two possible three word combinations....

"Somebody got some"

"Alien Crop Circles"

I assume they probably have some extra...and since they are stitching the field together, they can cut the bad spots out, and put new in. If not, I'm sure there's another way.

You've been busting out the "" a lot lately, Den... do you have express written consent from falconboy for such usage?

It just looks like it's a piece that's been matted down. Once they run the rollers the first time it shouldn't be a problem.

Oh the 50 yard and the library are the two most popular spots on campus. The BGNEWS did a story about it a couple years ago.

Drew,

Thanks a ton, brother, for getting those shots posted. The Doyt looks amazing on the PC...I can't imagine how cool the place looks being there. I already have crushed my sales goal this month so I'm taking the last Friday in July to drive the Freakings and myself up to see everything. I can't wait until 9/22. For that Temple game, I may get a room across the street and get there by 8. LOL! Mrs Freak can come over from Huron when she wants. That noon kickoff is kind of a bummer but oh well....

Your 50 yard line shot is right about where Class of 61, BGSU 99 & 96 and our seats are. The end zone shot of the band stands looks great with that concrete. And I really like the concession stands painted ORANGE!! Coca Cola instead of Pepsi? Can it really be true? Pepsi blows and doesn't mix well with the Captain...ask BG Fan.

Damn the place fixes up nicely... :-D

No problem Freak. I only apologize the quality of the panoramic photos isn't any better. I knew a lot of A-Z-Z'ers had seats around the 50, thus why I decided to try a photo from there.

I do have a couple of "Needs work" since the happiness of getting a closer look is over:

- A TON of landscaping needs done around the Sebo. There are still large mounds of dirt and weeds everywhere. We got a first class facility, let's just make sure the surroundings match.

- The water proofing done on the East stands makes that side look light years better than the West stands. Can we get both stands done so they match?

- Sebo still isn't "done." I saw electrical work being done on the inside and there's a lot of work that needs done on the outside.

- Didn't see any signs of a new fence like what was in the original work order. Maybe it'll come at a later time?

- I couldn't tell what kind of goal posts are going to be installed. It looks like they may possibly be the "hinged" type that can be put down/removed easily.

- There's some very dangerous area in the stands in regards to concrete damage. This needs fixed ASAP so that we don't have someone gets hurt.

Sebo and the field are a great start to a mass renovation. We just need another phase to improve the actual stands/concessions areas.
