Its weird. When the subject of your posts isn't Anthony Turner your posts suddenly become sane.MACMAN wrote:Anyone els enjoy watching the action.

MACMAN
Some old guys
some younger
some current....
I think with the AD screwing the Hockey program by putting Kbosh on the golf outing part it has killed the event by limiting the number of former falcons to return. You know all his "new" tradtions...
but the guys that were here werw having fun...id love to see more come back and turn it into a "preseason game" it would be a hoot.
and ya know when it come AT and bashing...Im only calling how I see it...he may well prove me wrong but I dont see it happening...esp since he should not be even on the team. ame with thug boy...the Univ has long way to go when it comes making good decisions in those matters. But hey I ll bet its just another new tradition.

Alumni game
The reason why there was no golf outing is not because of the AD. So stop making excuses MACMAN! It is because we do not want to come to any alumni events. We all received letters about the alumni golf outing and game. The school wanted to have the outing but it recieved no support from "US" the alumni and the school will continue to recieve zero support from us. The school and the program will get our support back in full when they get rid of you know who??????
PPPPPPPOOOOOOOOOCCCCCCCCHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Until that day comes you will see less and less of the alumni. We do not want to abandon the program we just want everyone to realize what the problem is and we see no other way of making it clear that we want Paluch out.
We hate the fact that we cant come to all th ealumni events. guys who play sports in college love going back and meeting the new guys and hanging out with all the players and fans and coaches. so it is sad when i see all my good buddies who played college hockey go back to their schools for alumni events and love it. The truth is that alumni events at BG would not be fun at all as long as Scott Paluch is the head coach.
Myself along with the rest of the alumni are really looking forward to the day when Paluch is gone so we can start giving money and support back to the program. We want more than anything to come back to BG a few times a year and watch games. hopefully one of these days the athletic department will wake up and get rid of Paluch and we can get our program back on the right track.
With paluch as our head coach we headed for another losing year and less support from fans and alumni. i fear that the program is going to crumble to nothing with Paluch as the head coach.

Re: Alumni game
Excuse me but why didn't football or basketball have their golf outings? The alumni don't like those coaches either??? You may not have been there--or even invited--but there was a BIG Golf Outing fund raiser for all the sports. Urban Meyer was back to give the speech. That is why the individual sports do not have the fund raiser golf outings now. (At least that is my understanding). Where is Falcon Fanatic when you need her??freddiethefalconBG wrote:The reason why there was no golf outing is not because of the AD. So stop making excuses MACMAN! I see how appreciative you are of the college education you received. You're welcome.freddiethefalconBG wrote:The school wanted to have the outing but it recieved no support from "US" the alumni and the school will continue to recieve zero support from us.
I think it's time for some of these alums to grow up.

Sorry transfer, but I'm with the alumni on this one. It's up to them how much they continue to support the University post-college. It's the same thing as TheKa not choosing to purchase season tickets this year. I will never look down upon someone for not giving money to a cause they don't believe in.

Check out our new BGSU hockey site: http://www.bgsuhockey.com
There were many old players at the alumni game and the "private" golf outing. There were not nearly as many alumni in town as there has been in prior years.
In past years I enjoyed getting together with the likes of Nagai, Wise and Celetano at the event and at Brathaus; I do not think that these guys made it this year.
I heard that the individual golf outings were phased out because
A) local retailers were tired of supporting 8 or so events
B) one big event would make more money for the teamS.
Am I correct on this? Anyone got a better rational?
Anyone have numbers on the revenue to the hockey program or womans B-ball from the big event, as compared to prior years. Needless to say the fun factor of an all hockey event is is Much greater than a university event.
I did not attend the BIG event. Even if I'm in a boycott Paluch mood I would play in the BGSU Hockey/Golf outhing with all the "old" guys. For next year AD Christopher needs to reconcider the ban on individual golf outings. Bring back the traditions that bring the community, the program and the university together.

YER DEAD WRONG PAL
all of the alumni events were combined this year into the golf abortion and Urban not here any more speach fest.
however after this teams success this upcoming season I doubt they will miss your 100 bucks and considering whats going on with football....and all this new tradition crap there losing a lot more than yer 100 bucks. so they much larger problems

Several hundred dollars to support Falcon Athletics while socializing on the University golf course. I am sure some of the money is used for greens fees which may improve OUR Falcon home for golf Forest Creason. Most of us don't want to be drawn and quartered financially so this provides the opportunity to support all the athletic programs.MACMAN wrote:FindlayFalcon wrote:Excuse me but why didn't football or basketball have their golf outings? I was in DiBennedentos (sp -horrible) one day for lunch when Mr. DiB started talking to me about support of athletic programs because of my t-shirt and I had bought lunch there. He said he supports, I believe, hockey and baseball mainly. He is always being asked by other coaches who eat lunch at his restraunt to support their programs as well. He seemed to feel bad but business is only so good.
A guy like this surely must IMO appreciate being able to support all the programs at one golf outting while not feeling as though he upsets anyone by selecting 1 or 2 programs over the rest. I actually think this is a good way to handle fundraising for Falcon Athletics. Now you can support OUR Falcon athletes at one large event. Didn't attend but in theory it sounds good.
I proudly chose to be a Falcon and a Falcon I will remain until the end.
