Steve Sanders in Browns training camp!
Saw this in the Toledo Blade...

SANDERS WORKING: Former Bowling Green State University wide receiver Steve Sanders is in training camp with the Browns for the second straight year.
“I know what to expect a little bit more this time around,” Sanders said. “I hope to come out and just continue to get better.”
Sanders was cut last year, but was signed to the practice squad the last week of the season. This gave Sanders a chance to go to NFL Europe, where he played for the Berlin Thunder this spring. In 10 games Sanders had 14 catches for 251 yards.
“The Browns sent me over to Europe to get experience and see how I would play in a game,” Sanders said. “It was great. It was a place I would have never thought I would have gone. It was good to experience the culture and also to get an opportunity to show what I can do.”

I wish him the best, but he honestly has next to no chance of making the roster.
Edwards
Wilson
Jurevicious
Cribbs
Carter
Those guys are all virtual locks to make the roster. Unless one of them either totally falls on his face, or gets hurt, there is almost no shot any of the other WRs make the final 53.
I'd love to see Sanders make it in the NFL, but I don't think Cleveland is the best place to do so. There are other teams with less invested in their WR corps, I'm sure.

Doesn't matter.reyray82 wrote:Look at the stats and not the names. Browns were 4-12 and the 3rd worst scoring offense in the league.
Good luck Steve
Braylon was the #3 overall pick 2 years ago, and has a fat contract, not going anywhere.
JJ was the big FA signing last year, and local boy. PR Nightmare & bad for the cap to cut, not going anywhere.
Wilson was a 3rd round pick last year, they will not cut ties with him this early.
Cribbs just signed a 6 or 7 year extension last year, and one of the best KR in the league, he's staying.
They just traded their former starting RB to get Tim Carter. I cannot see them getting rid of him either. If they do they drafted a WR in the 7th round this year named Syndric Steptoe or something like that. These two will duke it out for the last spot.
The Browns have a big FA deal, 2 high draft picks in the last 3 years, and a long extension wrapped up in their top 4 WRs. The last spot is a battle between a late draft choice & a guy they went out and traded for.
They've got too much invested in their WR corps for an undrafted player to make the cut. I'd love to see Steve make it, he's got some good talent, and I like to see the BG guys do well, but he's not in the best place for him, regardless of team performance.

Sorry, but no. Have you looked at the average size of an NFL TE lately? Steve would need some SERIOUS bulking up!VDub26Falcon wrote:They had Sanders on the front page of the Plain Dealer Sports Section yesterday. I could see them possibly trying to make him a TE. He's big enough to do so. If not that, it'd be great to see him in Green Bay...Go Pack.

Yeah, I agree. Given Steve's frame , nothing short of roids would bulk Steve up enough to play the TE position in the NFL.Redwingtom wrote:Sorry, but no. Yea, I was at training camp today and liked what I saw. The first practice Steve didn't do much of anything impressive but nothing bad either. He was beatin receivers but then Frye would over throw him by like 5 feet in the one vs ones. But...I have video of possibly the best play of the day at training camp...and yes it was a Steve Sanders catch. It was so good that I heard people around us tryin to figure out who he was and said, "Steve Sanders, welcome to the NFL!" Steve was running across the middle and dove for a ball, and got smacked by a line backer and held on to the ball. I am tryin to get the sound workin on the video so you can here the hit, but I am kind of illiterate with that stuff and I dont know how to post the video.
I have tons of videos of him and pictures of him and the rest of the players. Must say I am pretty impressed with Derek Anderson and Frye sucked. And Eric Wright is going to be a good addition at CB. Well, if anyone wants to help, I can try and get this video out there for you guys to see.
