Just came back from wnadering around inside Sebo and out on the field. Got my piece of endzone turf to put under my turf from the Glass Bowl. Also noted that the two largest balls in the weight room were Blue and Gold-same as on the field last time I was there.
Field and Sebo look really nice but it looks like there's a lot to do to dress up and meld Sebo into the field. Several cutouts needed on the sideline. A kid running around on the sideline almost took a faceplant on some drain or something buried under the turf but sticking up about three inches. I noticed that in several other places.
I also like the little interlocked BG on the railings (well, I hate them but from a design perspective they looked as nice as you could hope for). Are those new? And NWLB- on the way in from Waterville on 65 the State Historical marker claiming BG as the home of BGSU is almost completely obscured by a planter directly in front of it. A judicious cropping on a dark evening would restore the view.

They were added last year I believe (or possibly the year before that).
Ok, but were they always painted that bright orange, or were they just repainted recently and thus appear bright and new? For some reason they just look new to me.
I'll be curious to see how the sound bounces off the Sebo back into the stadium. Especially with the cannon. Will be band be better heard because of having them placed where they are, with the building behind them. And will they be distracted by looking directly into the video screen!
If nothing else, maybe the audio man will be able to see they are playing and avoid playing music over them.

You are presuming the band will be able to SEE the video board!!!!! And as far as the audio guy is concerned, that's a lost cause. The people in the press box could be standing in the middle of the band and not realize they are there or know what their function is. But I guess one can always dream.

I have a new photo for everyone to check out! I took three photos with my phone and merged them together to form a panorama. I think it looks pretty good. It definitely gives you more of a feel of what the stadium is going to look like this Fall.
When the weather gets better, I'm going to go out there with my D70 and get some shots. Until then... check this out:

Will we be changing the ad from Pepsi to Coke though? I've been told by several people that the university will no longer be serving Pepsi products and are switching to Coke effective this fall. As a direct result, I may end up dropping out due to a lack of readily available Mt. Dew, but that's another story.
I don't pretend to know what link (if any) exists between University Dining Services and athletic advertising. Any thoughts?
If by chance they are switching, it may have something to do with the contract that this new concession company has. Maybe they have a contract with Coke versus Pepsi.

Interesting, but doesn't the Mud Hens sell pepsi products and they are run by V/G.

That would be sweet if the concession company used Pepsi instead of Coke products, but I bet the University's contract doesn't allow that either. I have to believe that all athletic facilities are covered under the university's agreement with Coke
It's funny, I remember all the outrage from Coke drinkers when Pepsi swooped in...I wonder if there will be similar outrage this fall when Students get back to campus and realize they're now stuck with a vastly inferior softdrink selection.
