Summer Camp Starts

Post by Spart43 »

Well, its finally arrived. Summer Football Camp starts today. Anyone planning on heading out to the fields to check out the team?

Seems like football never ends (at least around my house) and I know for the Players it never really does. I am very excited about this team and the up coming season. I think we will be better than people think. Heres hoping for the best and looking forward to sharing some good times with all the great Falcon fans on this board. Let's get the tailgating started....... :D

Great to have the team back on the field. Which lead me to do a quick review of the roster. Found a few items.

Players on the Spring Roster not on the latest version:
K Paul Belany
RB Andre Boomer
WR Kelvin Davis - was #2 at 'X' on the final Spring depth chart.

Incoming signees not on the roster:
OL Josh Dodge
DB Anthony Smith

Any idea what happened to these guys?

What determines who wins the MAC this year? Is it conference record or division record? Also not everyone plays the same amount of conference games, so if its done by that then will they just go by winning percentage?
4th & 13 on PU 32yd line.. 56,000 fans up on their feet screaming, i held my breath the entire play trying to make as little noise as possible.. wouldnt u know Sharon would make the biggest touchdown catch in the history of BG Football, FALCON UP!

Division records determine winners,
From the MAC report Preview
In order to deal with this imbalance, the MAC is returning to a format that was used during the 2000 and 2001 seasons when the addition of Marshall created a similar scheduling dilemma. This season divisional games will be the primary factor in determining the divisional champion. Crossover games within the conference will serve as a tie-breaker if necessary.

Each MAC team will play a full schedule within its division with five of the six West Division squads playing seven league games while one team, Toledo, will play eight. Meanwhile in the East Division, six of the seven schools will play eight league contests with Miami only playing seven games.

Very well said, Spart! I am too jacked for the season to get going although my "first" game in 2007 will be at Mich State. I can't even watch the Minnesota game due to that wedding reception on the 1st. But, I will have my radio and hopefully will be able to pull in a station in Vermillion to listen. Mrs. Freak will simply have to catch me at the end of quarters to dance.

I think this team is gonna be pretty solid and has a great chance to win the East...at this point, just win the East. Worry about the MACC after we win the East.

Did anyone notice that Maureen Fulton wrote a story on the first day of Toledo's camp?

She's not switching beats, is she?

I heard that Hackenberg got a promotion and so did Maureen. ;-) She will be covering UT, now. Not sure if that's full time or not.

Maureen got promoted? Is moving from sports to the crime beat really a promotion? :-) .
