Doyt's new capacity with the Sebo seating?
Does anyone know how many seats we are adding to the Doyt with the endzone seating being added onto the Sebo? I guessing it will be a couple hundred or so but I don’t remember ever seeing a figure. I thought the last time I saw our capacity listing it was around 23,700 so I’m guessing we’ll be hovering around 24,000 or so.

How many people are in the band wouldn't affect capacity, anyway, I wouldn't think. Those seats are marked off the 17 or 18 inches or whatever and counted in the capacity regardless of who's going to be sitting in them. The actual seating ("paid" attendance) number will only go up if more people show up, regardless of who sits in the band. If anything, it will allow the students to move toward the endzone where the band was, and open some sightlines for the chairback folks near midfield.
As far as CAPACITY goes, I figure you'd have to get an answer on how they count those folks in the Sebo Center during games, as well as how many band seats there were. I'd guess probably last year's capacity number plus 300-400 or so.

Not to say that this is a moot discussion, but I wouldn't worry about getting a good seat at the Doyt.
Regardless of how many seats there are, the problem is going to be filling them. I wish I had an answer to this problem, but I don't. This is preaching to the choir, I know, since you all either go to the games or have good reason not to. I can understand why somebody with a 3 hour drive doesn't get to many games, but there are enough people in this area to fill that stadium if they would just get off their duffs and go.
But I'm not bitter....
I know that it is a stretch, but I really think it will help the team improve if the stadium would start getting filled up. It wouldn't happen overnight, but I really think it would. Recruits would be much more impressed by a filled up stadium, TV spots are largely influenced by stadium attendance, increased revenue would help finance more top shelf coaching staff, etc.
I hate hearing the excuse that people would go to the games if the team was better. Those of us paying attention during the Urban Meyer era know that is nonsense.
As die hard a fan as I am, I've often thought that BGSU doesn't deserve a knockout football team. We've had good teams, and we don't appreciate them. We've had good coaches, and we underpay them. We have a nice facility.....we'll see if that draws a crowd. Let's hope it does.
End soapbox....with apologies.
