I probably won't be doing a great deal of posting on here. I really just wanted to introduce myself to everyone and give you some contact information for me. I know this is the hub of Falcon fans and through the advice of Maureen I wanted to get my name out there among the fanbase before we got things rolling.

Unfortunately I won't be making my return to BG until next Tuesday. My internship finishes up Friday and I'm going to spend some overdue quality time with my family and friends in Avon (near Cleveland).

I fixed the link to the blog in the original post so it works now. And I also linked this site on the side so if for whatever reason someone does not know about this site (living under a rock) they will be able to find it now.

Thanks for all the kind words, and even the not so kind ones ;-).

I'm just as excited for football season as you are and September 1st can't come soon enough!

Welcome Colin! If you get a chance, please stop by the AZZ tailgate area before games. You can meet the Falcon Freak....B!GGEST Falcon Football Fan...EVER!! We are a friendly bunch and always have plenty of food and beverages on hand to share!!!
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

Welcome! I'll be meeting with BG News staffers this weekend, so perhaps we'll get a chance to meet face-to-face! Looking forward to a much-improved football team and hope you and your group have a lot of fun covering them.
Whoa! What have I missed? Why is 1987 going to be meeting with the BGNEWS staff? A seminar? Words of Wisdom from alumnus? Inquiring minds hoping Noah lives closer to BGSU want to know?!

always -

The incoming editor is having some BG Snooze alums in to do a "boot camp" for the staff. I've been charged with talking about the Web.

Noah will be charged with giving Mrs. 87 & Catie the campus tour!
Hey, look at me! I'm all over the InterWebs!

Good luck bgnewser. Develop some thick skin if you don't already have it. Remember you aren't doing your job unless someone is pissed off.

Ole Snakeman is one of a kind, eh? LOL! Welcome Colin! I look forward to reading your stories online in the BG News. As someone else stated, please make sure BGSU is on page one and move any and all references for OSWho to page two.

NWLB wrote:Colin, as you move ahead in your work, I give you the best advice anybody at the BG News can ever get, and that is most frequently ignored: SPELL CHECK!

Thank you, and good luck.
Ignored? No...it really isn't! Writers spell check on the fly, designs spell check in InDesign, and copy editors and that nights shop editor are the last to proof read. If anything gets past the writer, it should definitely be fixed before it goes to print but it's not ignored by any means.
When I worked there, we didn't have spell check. Macs had five inch-screens, with boot-up discs. And West Hall still have a typewriting lab.

True story. And, as many of you know, I'm not *that* old.
