No.9 Ohio St. lambasts the lady falcons 89-41
Yikes, I was hoping we get give them good run and keep somewhat close, but it was obvioius that just wasnt' possible with the talent OSU has. Man the talent gap between the two teams was just massive. We still have a long way to , we have very young starting five to begin with. In a couple of years I don't know if we make it a better game between OSU and the Falcons. You guys see how dangerous a 6'4 center does to a team when you can't guard someone like that one on one, you have to double team leaving great shooters wide open to drain threes. Liz just wasnt tall enough and quick enough to guard someone like Davenport.

I think OSU is just that good and I think BG will be fine this season. They will not see a lineup like OSU's in the MAC, namely they won't see a post player in the MAC like Jessica Davenport. Let's get IPFW! Michelle and I may go over to Pittsburgh on 11/27 to see the BG women take on Duquesne because I'm not sure we can wait until 11/30 (is that right?) for another home game.

Don't let hte score fool you. We played Ohio State very tough, we made take many off theor shots with the shot clock winding down, they unfornately went in though. Ohio State beat St. Joseph's yesterday by 47, so don't get too down on our team. Ohio State is just that good, now we know why they are ranked 10th in the nation and picked to win the Big Ten.

The thing I notice about NCAA womens Bball is the vast gap between the elite programs (top 20) and the rest. The Women's NCAA tourney very, very rarely has an upset and then it's usually a nine or ten seed winning. Playing at home for the top seeds helps early but there are a still a bunch of blow outs. Maybe its the 15 scholarships. Allows stockpiling like Football use to do and discourages more parity. Just my 2 cents.
Tough, I don't think I would go that far. It looks like OSU is even better than advertised in womens hoops this season. Hopefully they will not dwell on that beating. That will mostl likely be the best team they face all season.BGSU96 wrote:Don't let hte score fool you. We played Ohio State very tough,

Re: What about the 15 scholarships?
All I mean is arithmetic. Men have 13 scholarships, if the women had 13 that's 2 scholarship players from the best team that moves on down the line and so on. So the 14-15 player at Tennessee and Connecticut are now somewhere else etc. Football I believe used to allow 100 scholarships, when that went away, the mid majors slowly began to rise and parity became a little bit more a reality.falconboy wrote:I'm not sure I follow.
