Fall Pledge Drive for AZZ - The Challenge has been placed

Post by Tech83 »

FIRST - This entire idea was cooked up by myself and Ziggy has no idea I am doing this..... so if you don't like this idea.... PM me.......but it is time for us to support AZZ.com with a Fall Pledge Drive.

All costs for running this site, emotionally as well as financially, are incurred by our beloved leader, Ziggy Zoomba. It cost nothing to join this site. But Ziggy does accept donations.

Let me be the first to admit that I am woefully behind in supporting this site with a donation. That changed this morning.

Anyway....

Sept 1, 2007 and the start of any other campaign for BG athletics will soon be upon us. We will all be on this site like white on rice. It cost money to run this site.... Ziggy's money, unless we step up and help make a donation. And I am asking all of us regulars to contribute.... No amount is too small and no amount is too large. You newbies and students - your support would also be appreciated. A couple of bucks will go a long way. Think of a $5 donation as buying a beer for Ziggy.

Go to Paypal and make a donation... $5, $10, $100. Just help Ziggy keep this site up and running.

I made my donation this morning. You can PM Ziggy to verify it. Now I am asking all of you to match me with any amount. Let's see if we can raise $500 before Kickoff on Sept. 1.

This isn't PBS and we are giving out DVD's or hats if you donate, but Ziggy is giving you a place to meet friends, fellow alumni, falcon fanatics..... and to voice your opinion even if I disagree with you.

Thanks Tech! Everyone's support is welcomed and encouraged.

As in the past, PayPal works best, personal checks can be sent to be via USPS mail at:

Grant Cummings
P.O. Box 73
Elmore, OH 43416

There are costs associated with this site, and they go up every year. The Google Ads have defrayed that to some extent, but as soon as they kicked in, I had to move to a co-lo server which cost about 10X as much as the original hosting plan because of the amount of traffic this site generates every month!

And I'd also be thrilled if, instead of sending ME a check, you decided to support one of my favorite charities, or even one of your own. I'd heartily recommend the National Multiple Sclerosis Society (www.nationalmssociety.org) or the V Foundation for Cancer Research (www.jimmyv.org). If you do decide to go that route, send me a note to let me know. Their causes are far worthier than our own here.

Thanks again to EVERYONE for your support! (and I'm gonna sticky this one b/c prior to this morning, the PayPal account was bone dry!!) ;-)

Absolutely Tech! Grant, we'll be in Oregon from 8/15-8/21 but will get a check in the mail after we get back. As I've always said, I live on this site so I should help with the house payment.

Grant,
The check's in the mail. If you don't want to use it for AZZ, please donate to the charity of your choice.

I apologize that it took a reminder to get me to do this this time.

I have an orange totebag with white handles. The lettering is white and says McGraw-Hill Construction. The next person who donates $25 or more and wants the totebag will get the totebag. I'll be happy to mail it to Ziggy for distribution to the lucky Gold Level Donor

I know, I know. You were. I'll just look at the pictures and pretend I was there too.

Well impressed.

I asked Ziggy for an update...... So far - in four days - we have raised $190.00!!! . Thanks to all who have contributed so far !!!!!

We have just over two weeks left before kick-off. So if you haven't made a contribution thru Paypal, or haven't sent a check to Ziggy, PLEASE help us raise the $500 to assist in running this site for the near future.

And remember - This was my idea, not Ziggy's and I came up with the $500. I just thought it was a good goal to shoot for.... Maybe Ziggy can tell us the cost to run this site, just to give us idea of HIS committment.
