I believe some on the board have gone so far as to actually marry women who attended the institution in question.eRichFalcon wrote:So here's my new question about the aforementioned school who's name i prefer not to use....
As of Wednesday, I am dating a girl that attends said institution. Is that, like, uh, allowed?

Don't accept threesomes. You might end up with:

Things will never be the same after the guy on the right gets done.

You know that they used one of the guys from our board as the model for that one.
I dated a Falconette or something-synchro skater back in the day, but she wised up and transferred to TCU. I've never been one to trash women from other schools- with the exception of the Seven Sisters maybe, I find that women pretty much look good, or bad, pretty much everywhere. I suppose its true for guys too but I don't really check them out. Much.

They've also been known to attend schools which have merged with said institution.1987alum wrote:I believe some on the board have gone so far as to actually marry women who attended the institution in question.eRichFalcon wrote:So here's my new question about the aforementioned school who's name i prefer not to use....

Not sure this is possible-you can attend a school that WILL merge but once the merger has taken place- you're a Rocket, baby! Welcome and congratulations!FliccGirl wrote:They've also been known to attend schools which have merged with said institution.1987alum wrote:I believe some on the board have gone so far as to actually marry women who attended the institution in question.eRichFalcon wrote:So here's my new question about the aforementioned school who's name i prefer not to use....

But if you could only hear the way the health science campus faculty/staff trash-talk the main campus.... heh.h2oville rocket wrote:Not sure this is possible-you can attend a school that WILL merge but once the merger has taken place- you're a Rocket, baby! My daughter just had surgery there a couple weeks ago-everyone was VERY positive about the direction of the university and the merger, feeling, without exception that I heard, it would be good for both campuses. I supect there is internicine squabbling at thae school in the rural county south of here as well, but from the looks of the UT T-shirts in the gift shop(I love the "Why yes, I am a Rocket scientest" and will buy you one if you want one) and the comments I've heard the new University of Toledo Medical School has embraced the change. It's early, yet-you'll come around.FliccGirl wrote:But if you could only hear the way the health science campus faculty/staff trash-talk the main campus.... heh.h2oville rocket wrote:Not sure this is possible-you can attend a school that WILL merge but once the merger has taken place- you're a Rocket, baby! I doubt that the people on the Health Science Campus are "trash talking" Main Campus. As a graduate of both BG and UT I have friends both places and have heard only positive things. When you consider how much respect the medical people have for president Jacobs, I would be extremely surprised if more than a handful of people are unhappy with him or the merger. If you are a medical student, you may want to be careful about bad-mouthing the institution from which you will earn your degree.h2oville rocket wrote:My daughter just had surgery there a couple weeks ago-everyone was VERY positive about the direction of the university and the merger, feeling, without exception that I heard, it would be good for both campuses. Relax, people... it was mostly a joke. It's really more administrative irritation that I've heard-- a sort of "this is the way we've always done it, now we have to double-check with other people and it's annoying that they get to have a say in what we do." I am aware that it's entirely unofficial. I have nothing against UT academics, medical or otherwise. It's the athletics I take issue with!
As for Dr. Jacobs, why wouldn't the med school like him? He's a vascular surgeon who was president of MUO before the merger.
