True freshman QBs can have an impact, see Colt McCoy.
Turner will be the QB. I just hope they re-open up the offense and AT can make some passes.
Name your starting QB
The way the offense was run, IMO, was mostly due to the confidence (or lack thereof) the staff had in AT. Watching the Spring game it was like watching two different teams play. When Sheehan was out there they were throwing downfield. AT's team never threw anything more than 10 yards downfield.Falcon30 wrote:True freshman QBs can have an impact, see Colt McCoy.

I call it the "John Cooper Syndrome." Cooper started 5th-year senior Kirk Herbsteit for the first time when redshirt freshman Bobby Hoyning should have been the starter. That team was going nowhere and Cooper was trying to squeeze every win he could out of that team to keep his job rather than building for the future with a young QB. The following year Hoyning experienced some growing pains like any new QB and that cost them a Big Ten title. Those might have been avoided if he plays Hoyning the preceeding year...a rebuilding year anyway.BGFootball wrote:hammb... I see where you are coming from as well, but think about it...Gregg Brandon is fighting for his job this season, I do not think we will see him writing this season off to develope a freshman QB...just my opinion.

I'am going to choose AT.
Omar threw about 45 TDs and over 4,000 yards his first season starting. Why did this happen? Duh the coaches trusted him to do this, but I'm wondering if you are coming into this system and see the stats Omar and J5 are putting up and you would just be so excited to play. They probally sold AT on how well J5 did, but then you play and they won't let you throw 10 yards. Man I would be ready to transfer to Toledo. In my eyes were lucky to have AT. I think the coaches are still dogging him cause the incident, and they got to get over it. The coaches got to open up the offense for AT, like they do for Sheehan, if they don't do it for AT, I believe they are trying to bench him on the low low. I think that AT is going to put all that behind him and just play ball this season.
I know one thing for sure it funny how last year Everyone was talking about Freddie when AT got in trouble, and then when Freddie did bad you wanted Sheehan, and when Sheehan did bad you wanted Glaud to get a chance. And now you want Brown. If he does bad then who do you want? I'll let the haters think about that.

No one is hating or being fickle. I'll be the first to admit I made a mistake by wanting Freddie at QB. It was hard not to get excited after watching him play against Wiscy. My mind quickly changed though after the Kent St game. If that game didn't give you a verdict on his throwing abilities I don't know what will.
Never at any point did I say I wanted Sheehan, but with Turner hurt I guess we didn't have much of an option. Now that AT is healthy he gets my vote to start and is the reason why I created this poll. If for some strange reason I had to choose someone other than AT, yes I would take Glaud or Brown (whoever is more ready at this point). Not because I'm a hater, but because from what I have seen with my own two eyes, neither Freddie nor Sheehan can get the job done at QB.
Now others have mentioned that Sheehan was put in some tough spots last year which IS TRUE. However, I still wasn't impressed with how he handled adversity and how he improvised. The ONLY advantage I see with Sheehan is that the coaches have the most confidence in him and are willing to let him throw down the field. If they showed this same kind of belief and trust in AT, I believe he could be a pretty good QB for us. Not Omar or J5 like, but more than good enough to get the job done against the majority of the MAC.
4th & 13 on PU 32yd line.. 56,000 fans up on their feet screaming, i held my breath the entire play trying to make as little noise as possible.. wouldnt u know Sharon would make the biggest touchdown catch in the history of BG Football, FALCON UP!
No disrespect FootballFan but you read it wrong. If you didn't say those things it doesn't apply to you, but if you did it does apply. I am talking about numerous posts over last season and this post season. The point I was trying to make is why do the Falcon fans have little faith. We should stay strong with players and not be so quick to doubt them.

Sorry that I took your point wrong, I thought you were directing it specifically at the Quarterback position for this upcoming season.. but fair enough. I think the vast majority have faith on here, we're just holding our breath a bit more this year. I know Vegas isn't the best gauge, but we are 6-17 in our last 23 games against the spread. Speaking in your general terms, people have had too much faith in our team in recent years.zeket10 wrote:No disrespect FootballFan but you read it wrong.
