Left Wing (enforcer) George McPhee
Centre- Nelson Emerson
Right Wing- Paul Ysebaert

My team= 3 Former Jets and all Canadians.
Dave Ellett is a hero. A Bowling Green Falcon and a Former Jet and Maple Leaf. What more can a Winnipegger ask for.

It's just a shame he had to wear a helmet and mask, as I'm convinced opposing players would only be able to stop and look in awe at the perfect, never-wavering part down the side...
yeah but if I remember right it was Libertucci's helmet that scored on him! Heads Up!

I remember Paul's dad clenching his teeth for an entire season as the PA announcer mispronounced the family name.

It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

The Terminator!! :supz: He would lay a massive hit on a guy, skate right by Section A and have this really big grin on his face! I'll never forget it. We laughed and screamed our heads off over his B!G hits!!

Ken Morrow has to go before Ellet. He was an incredibly accomplished player.

Any of those top four "D" would make a good choice and I would argue for or against any of them! :D

Blake, Ellet, Morrow, Galley..................pick your poison.

AZICE and RWT you guys are right on.
Staniewics was probable the best of them all, left school to be with his girl friend back in Toronto, represented Austria in the Olympics twice. Yes, Sarachman was better than Luit while at BG.
On any all BG team should be Wansbrough, Shutt, and Big Mac - Brian MacLellan. Roger Archer still gets a vote on defense.

AZIce wrote:Don't know whether you are talking about guys who had great careers at BG or just guys who were the best players period. I bring this up because Brian Stankiewicz was the best single season goalie I saw at BG, that 77-78 season he had was amazing. He was a bit of head case though and left school after that one year. If you saw Liut play at BG, many would say Al Sarachman was the better of the two at BG, but obviously Liut turned into the much better player long term.

Anyway, basing my choices on who I thought the best players were for any given year here are my choices.

G: Starter-Kruzich'84 Backup-Stankiewicz'78

D: Starters- Morrow'79 Blake'90 2nd Team-Galley'84 Ellet'84

F: Starters-McPhee'79 Hills'83 Emerson'88 2nd Team-Holzinger'95 Wells'79 Ysebaert'87

Wow...just thinking of how fast that line of McPhee, Hills and Emerson would be or how tough hanging out in front of the crease with two guys the size of Morrow and Blake would be...LOL!!

Good stuff.....
id go with Walley charco and Im torn between David and kruzich
I like your D and would only change out ellet for good Ol #24 Big Mac
Id then drop Wells for Pelland, or Paul titanic.

If you could isolate one time period, I don't know that you'd find a much better goalie that Kruzich during the final run-up to the national title. His stats may not show it, but he just never seemed to give up a goal when it mattered most.

I would not dispute that. in fact I would go a steep further and stretch and say that since the begining, BGSu has been particualary blessed with good goalies
lieut, charco, david, collins, Mazur was solid , burke out of Avon Old Farms was good,
