I'm ticked off now, I was really looking forward to seeing BGSU play Tiffin, Ashland and Heidelberg this year!

Schedule looks stronger than it has in years! Hopefully Coach Orr can get the guys to play to their potential!

Glad to see the game with UC is on Sunday, I will for sure be there. Ever since getting to BG the one thing I have wanted to see is us at UC in bball (men's or women's)

Western Carolina will be an interesting matchup with 4 Ohio prep players on their roster and they are being coached by former OU head man Larry Hunter. One of his assistants is Bobcat alum Dustin Ford.

Coach Orr and our AD have put together a super schedule. I love the opening games in Cincinnati- great for recruiting as mentioned. Temple in AA post UT football game Friday. Should be fun. Good mix of teams we can compete with as we rebuild.

The only negative is some home games on dates when the students are gone, but this is very hard to avoid.

Go Falcons!

Here's my take on the schedule:

The Good: Overall, I think this is a pretty good schedule for our team, especially considering the state our program has fallen into, what we are now trying to accomplish and where we are trying to go as a team. Add to that the fact we are also breaking in a new coaching staff. And the icing on the cake - no, count them, no, non-D-I teams!!!

The Bad: Four of our five games over the semester break will be at home when many of the students are gone - including the MAC opener against likely MAC-favorite Ohio.

The Ugly: Closing out the year with four of our last five games on the road, including three of four MAC contests.

Larry Hunter earned his first victory as head coach of Western Carolina against the Falcons on 11/10/05 in Blacksburg, VA two days before BG "knocked off" Va. Tech.

Very good assessment. Hopefully Coach Orr will reach out to the community along with the marketing people and get the program headed in the right directiion in both regards.

The GREAT part about having games over the break - NO PARKING PROBLEMS. If you really want to see a BG game you have 4 easy access opportunities.

Looking at the Cinci tournament they scheduled us for the sunday "final". the host teams typically do things like "predict the championship" when they schedule these things.

think that says something of what our expectations should be for this season....?

also temple at home is a big step up for our program. They're a little down recently but 5 years ago they were constantly making it to the NCAAs.

All in all though our record at the end of the year SHOULD actually indicate where we are as a team as there are no gimmies on the schedule, and also every game is winnable

They do?

Or is it just a "round-robin" type event, and not an actual "tournament"?

The NCAA has a bunch of rules in place about how many "tournaments" you can play in ie . . . NIT, Maui, etc . . . So the way around that is what Cincy is doing, among many others and guaranteeing teams 3 games where it is round robin. Otherwise, you get into exempt game status and all kinds of other crap that is too difficult to explain at 11:30.
