Online Auctions to Debut Sept. 5

Per BGSUFALCONS.com

The Bowling Green State University Department of Intercollegiate Athletics has announced the launch of an online auction here at the official site of BGSU athletics, BGSUfalcons.com. The first item available for bid is an authentic football helmet, the exact helmet that the Falcon football team will debut in 2007, and the bidding opens on Wednesday, Sept. 5.

"We are very excited about the addition of an online auction to our website," said Scott Seeliger, BGSU Associate Athletic Director for External Affairs. "Falcon memorabilia, behind-the-lines game-day experiences and other unique items will be available for fans to bid on throughout the year.

"We hope the Falcon family will have fun with the auction, and participate often. We look at this as a win-win opportunity for our fan base, as they have the chance to pick up valuable BGSU merchandise and experiences, while at the same time helping to enhance each of our 18 sports."

Different items from different sports will be available approximately every two weeks for fans to bid on. Stay tuned to BGSUFalcons.com for further updates as Sept. 5 approaches.

I'd really like to own a pair of authentic basketball shorts. Or authentic other appearal would be nice as well. I really hope they keep up with this and put up some cool, unique items.

This isn't good for my bank account. I wish they would've announced this earlier. I just bought an authentic Blake jersey on Ebay last night. It's time to save up some money if I plan on doing anymore spending.

Now everyone knows what the new helmets look like

I stopped going to BGSUFalcons.com. It crashes my browser everytime. It all started when they added the Todd Walker advertisement.

I'd LOVE to have a pair of authentic basketball shorts.

I love mesh shorts for laying around in and some authentic BG ones would be awesome.

I like this idea. But one thing is, I'm guessing there is going to be several of us with our hearts set on some of these items who won’t come away winning some of these auctions. It would also be nice if they had either a store or a way to purchase some of these authentic items directly from the company as well.

I'd like to get a new helmet and am sure one day I will...I need to watch the spending after our OR trip, season tix, FC donation and MSU tix. Gotta save for the MAC title game and bowl.

Agreed. I would love to get my hands on a helmet with the logo from the last two years and the current helmet, but I'm sure that these auction prices will be a little steep for me. It would be great to have another avenue to purchase these items.

If it's the new style Evolution helmet like shown in the picture, my starting bid would be $225.
